3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 trapez (1354) - Hilleroed, - DEC 23, 2011
Bottle. Aroma of malt, dark chocolate and honey. Dark brown colour with light brown head. Roasted malt flavour with some honey and slightly roasted grains. Rather light mouthfeel for a porter. Dry and slightly bitter finish.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Rastacouere (5923) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 28, 2012
A small tan froth settles above the deepest brown hue and diminishes to nothing within a minute or two. We’re left with a malt monster, throwing liquorice and sugary molasses notes amidst a rather cold filter coffee roasted malt foundation that is not especially attractive. Sweet indeed, it even proposes vanilla/cocoa notes that would fit a bourbon barrel ale, maintaining its carbonation level on the low side and that accentuates the alcohol feel and thus the sweetness further, most of the bitterness seemingly coming from the roast. Rather loose malts and nowhere near decadent for an almost 9% strong dark ale. I have appreciated a lot of the Hornbeer stuff and particularly they black ales, so while a relatively good beer, it feels below what I have come to expect from them.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 laiti (1711) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 11, 2012
50 cl bottle @ hotel room, copenhagen, BBE 08.10.2014
Aroma has coffee and some sweetish, roasted malt. Flavour is sweet and roasted with coffee and some vanilla. A bit thin palate for this ABV. Too sweet and sticky stuff.

500 ml bottle.
Pours a black colour with an off-white head. Weak aroma of roasted malts and some nuts. Flavour of roasted malts, nuts, cocoa and cardboard. Medium bodied, thin mouthfeel and a roasty cocoa finish. Disturbing notes ruin the show.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Ocanatoledo (10) - SPAIN - MAY 4, 2012
Una especial recomendación de un amigo, no defraudó. Contundente con sabores de miel, tostados y café, espuma densa color café y un trago muy bebible pese al tipo de cerveza y la graduación. Con una buena carne se disfruta mucho, e incluso para el postre. Gran cerveza
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Sigmund (3720) - Hafrsfjord, NORWAY - MAY 2, 2012
500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.6%. Black colour, large to moderate tan head. Pleasant aroma of chocolate, caramel and black bread, also notes of mild coffee and honey. Smooth and soft flavour, plenty of chocolate and honey, without being cloyingly sweet. Mild roasty notes (coffee again), moderately roasty finish, low bitterness. Best at cellar temperature, very enjoyable.
