COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Horny Goat Wheat is a Belgian-Style white beer, craft brewed with wheat, malted barley, hops and a bit of orange peel and coriander. Itís natural haze from yeast and wheat make it a classic to be enjoyed on its own, or with a slice of orange. Horny Goat Wheat loves big cans... those little 12 ounce bottles arenít enough beer, and cans fully protect the beer from light and oxygen, producing a new level of fresh that you wonít find out of a bottle. Cans are also easier to recycle and better for the environment... as an ecologist if you donít believe the brainiacs at Horny Goat.

Aroma of citrus, wheat hops and alcohol. Taste is the same as aroma with a hint of wheat and citrus. Medium thin mouthfeel with a mild bitterness and a slightly tart finish. Decent.

Pours a beautiful hazy gold with lots of tiny bubbles capped by a thick white foam. Nose is citrus. Very creamy texture. Nice flavor balance of wheat, citrus and hops. Clean crisp finish. Not as refined as some other Belgian whites, but this brew is a very capable companion on a summerís eve, either with a slice of orange or with some light picnic foods.

has got some character to it, the malts are malty and slightly over sweet. not much on the hop front. the is some fizzy carbonation, still I find this refreshing.

The aroma has coriander, orange, wheat, yeast, and a touch of hops. The appearance is cloudy gold with a foamy head. The flavor is like the aroma. It’s a little cheap tasting but not bad at all. The palate is right for this style. Overall I like it.

Has an orangish (is that a word?) color. Hints of orange, malts and hops. Has a little bit of a weak flavor. Light in the wheat and hop areas, but it is kind of smooth. Not much of an aftertaste, but then again if you’re lacking flavor, you’re probably lacking the aftertaste too! One less beer to have in the future.

24oz can. Pour was murky orange with a quickly dissipating white head. Moderate white lacing in the glass. Aroma was pretty much that cheap beer smell you’d expect. Aroma is of cheap beer malt, some citrus notes, grains, and spice. Taste is slightly above cheap crap. It’s of malt, with a slight hop sweetness. There is also some citrus notes and spice. Mouthfeel is watery and goes down much the same. Offensive to the palate not only in aroma, but also in taste. Would not ever drink this again.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2008 16oz can. Cloudy orange tan color, nice frothy head. Big-time aroma, lemony and citrus. Big wheaty Hefeweizen taste, very drinkable. Some corn and sugary tastes in there, but the big yeasty unfiltered aspect really shines through. A little funky with some trace wheaty sourness. Good value for a quality product. This is a well done beer, despite the gimmicky name.

16oz can. Poured clear bright golden with about 1" of initial white head.. lots of rising carbonation. The aroma wasn’t bad with maize and banana sweetness accented by white pepper and a little orange zest.. sweet overall. The flavor was quite similar with sweet honey and pale malts at the core.. mild tangy wheat and orange zest at the edges.. picked up some dry peppery spicage for the finish.. just a touch sour right at the back. Lighter-bodied with a bit of syrupy texture on the palate.. not quite dry enough at the finish.. tangy tartness was close to metallic, but maintained its air of refreshment. Much better than it rates.

Pint can. Poured a hazy dark gold color with almost no head. Aroma was earthy with a subtle spice note. Flavor was seriously lacking. Slight orange hint with a little wheat, but a metallic flavor. Body was too light and carbonation was a little low.

Pint can, graciously given to me by csbosox. Pour is a very muddled orange ruby, with little to no head. Aroma of dirt, wheat and some very mild spiciness. Taste is artificial wheat, orange peel bitterness, spoiling vegetables and a weird metallic element I canít quite identify. I guess what I am trying to say is that it doesnít taste very good. Palate, what difference does it make, really. Thanks Chris? Reading your rating, I assume this was from the same four pack, what gives?
