No bottling information.
Appearance: The body is typical of saisons Iíve seen with a cloudy straw color, the head is thin with poor retention though. This is decent looking.
Aroma: The aroma is weak, but smells decent. Thereís a slight citrus with a slight malt aroma, perhaps a touch of funk.
Taste: This is a bit watery, but one of the better tasting beers Iíve had by Horny Goat. Slight malts, a tad musky, with some dull citrus. Not really sweet or dry, not much flavor but itís not bad.
Palate: Medium bodied slightly hard carbonation.
Overall: This isnít bad, nor is it good. This would be okay as a bargain bin beer, but nothing more than $1 for a beer.

According to RateBeer as of December 2012, this is classified as a saison as per the brewery itself. It is so far from being a saison, itís not even funny. However, it is not a terrible beer so I guess thatís all fine and at least it isnít too high in alcohol like many American saisons. In any case, I would call this is an American blond ale. It as just a touch of ale fruitiness and a kind of grape juice sweetness to it. It is pretty mildly carbonated but there is some bite to it. It finishes clean w/ just a lingering sweet note on the palate. As a saison, this would be complete crap but as just a beer itís about average.

Its a nice little step up from your standard fare. A little alternative for your light beer swilling friends.

Aroma is bready malts and sweetness. The flavor is pale malts, a hint of spices and sour/tart twang in the finish.

12 oz. bottle poured to a Czech-pils glass at Mackís Golden Pheasant in Elmhurst, IL.. Displayed a hazed light gold, almost straw color, with a modest amount of white foam that quickly diminished to a ring & film, and left some light dots & dashes of lacing. The aroma was pleasant, but somewhat non descript, with just light hints of breadiness, grain, spice, and mid-fruit as apricot/peach. The flavor was similar, adding low hop bitterness, very light malt, a light body, and lively effervescence that saved it from becoming thin and watery. By no means ground breaking, but decently sessionable, with my first impression also as one of a light Blonde Ale.

Bottle. Slightly hazy light yellow pour with a small white head. Slight spice in the nose. Thin palate. Taste is watery and some grain and spice. Not very exciting.

Cakes (363) - New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 11, 2012
12 oz bottle. Pours a semi-hazy golden straw brew with a lumpy white head that has some nice retention and sticky lacing. Aroma of light yeast, some golden grain malt with wheat, some light pineapple and pear. Taste is medium bodied, some carbonation with flavors of coriander, some orange zest, golden grain malt with wheat, citrus seed and a hint of corn grits. Finish is semi-sweet with a light orange/peach aftertaste that quickly disappears. A rather weak offering.
