At Red Lion. OK, so I’ll try another pumpkin ale. Smells like pumpkin pie and tastes like a touch of pumpkin in my ale. Really wasn’t that bad. The pumpkin flavor and spices don’t come through for the taste as much as the aroma. Serving: Bottle

cloudy golden color. lots of residual particles floating around in it. pretty smooth flavor....Not a ton of pumpkin flavor, but you can tell what it's going for. I'd by it again if in the mood for a fall seasonal. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle: Pours hazy amber with a whipped, off-white head. Pumpkin, nutmeg aroma. Spiced pumpkin mix, dusty spicing, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger. Truly not a bad pumpkin ale.

Slightly hazy orange color with a decent creamy head. Aroma of pumpkin and a hint of the usual spice (clove, nutmeg, cinnamon). Creamy malt body with a good hit of pumpkin flavor and spice. Creamy and full bodied, the palate actually reminds me of a pumpkin pie (right down to the gingerbread crust). I’m not a big fan of pumpkin ales but this came in a sampler pack and I was pleasantly surprised. It gets right to the edge of being too heavy on the pumpkin spice but never quite crosses that line. I’m still not a fan of pumpkin ales but if I had to pick one this would be it.

Draft at Good Dog. Hazy orange pour with just a slight foamy ring. Actually tastes a bit like real pumpkin (vs. pumpkin pie) which I appreciate. Fairly mild in flavor. Unpretentious and drinkable. Not a work of art, but still pretty damn decent for a Pumpkin Ale.

Pours a very hazy copper/orange color. Little bit of malt with a minimal amount of pumpkin spices. Flavor is malty, hoppy but also kinda watery. There are some pumpkin spices but not much. Mouthfeel is thin carbonation is average. Don’t think I would buy this beer again.

Pours a cloudy orange yellow color with no head. Aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, and pumpkin. Pumpkin flavor with spices. Nor bad at all.

It poured an orange color with a white head. The aroma was of pumpkin and spices. The taste was of pumpkin, spices and a slight hop bitter finish. Not bad.

Pailhead (4758) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - SEP 29, 2013
Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate ginger, lighter nutmeg, cinnamon, light brown sugar, and caramel. It pours a mostly transparent orange with a touch of haze. It has a one finger head that fades to a thin film within a minute or so. There is some thin webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of light pumpkin and brown sugar. The finish has heavy ginger cookie notes. There’s some light cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice there...but the ginger really dominates. It’s light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, this could just as easily named this beer Horny Goat Gingersnap Ale.
