ben4321 (4094) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - AUG 17, 2014
Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 8/17/14

Aroma: The aroma is fairly light, some doughy malts, caramel, and a bit of earth
Appearance: It pours a dark reddish color with a clean sheet of beige head
Flavor: Tastes much the same, malty and light, dough/cracker, caramel, and some mild bitterness
Palate: The body is light, it has an average carbonation, and a short, fairly thin finish
Overall Impression: This beer is alright. I didn’t find any major flaws here, but I also just wasn’t too excited by it either. Not bad, just a little dull.

Dusty, caramel, nutty aroma. Flavors of salted, sugared caramel malts, and sour grainess. Stomach turning. Not a winner for sure.

Bottle - from sampler pack. Deep copper color - clear. Very malty aroma. Flavor a bit malty and hoppy but fairly bland and also a bit too sweet. Meh.

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2014 Pours a reddish amber color with a fair head. Aroma of citrus, malt and grain. Taste of citrus, some malt swetness and bit of fruit. Mild bitterness and a fairly clean finish. Moderate body, but sort of blah. Not a bad beer, just sort of average.

This has a nice copper color and is crystal clear w/ a short-lived and soapy head. This is an amber in the old American craft style which is to say it’s very much malt focused and not just an amber version of an APA. Unfortunately, while this a malt-forward brew to be sure there’s no real character to it. It is just a sweet and sloppy malt soup w/ sort of a vague impression of raisin and walnut. It finishes clean w/ just a touch of earthy bitterness. There is nothing really wrong w/ this from a brewing standpoint it is just a rather bland beer.

PorterPounder (5707) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAY 6, 2014
Warner Robins, Ga. - Lazy Dog Growler - 12 oz bottle. Slightly hazy medium copper pour, nice thick khaki colored head Aroma has a hint of wort, some topsoil, a touch of fresh lake water. Flavor has some light molasses, a very brief hint of chocolate, a touch of date fruitiness. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Decent.
