Bottle, 25 cl. (found this @ Van Uxeem) I’m surprised this a difference between the other inbev’s amber ales. Clear amber-orange color, with a nice white head. Aroma malts, bit caramel, fruits, hops. Light body. Taste sweet, caramel, fruity touch, bit hops and bitterness. Not bad.

Now here’s a rarity. Not a surviving traditional rarity - but a nearly killed nationwide brand that fell afoul of the High and Mighty at InBev. Once, "Horse-Ale" could be found in the smallest local supermarket, as in every second "café" - and, surprising for any other Walloon beer but Jupiler, as much in Flanders as south of the language divide. We Flemish even had our own word - we asked for " a perdje" (=little horse). Now it is all but gone. And I wonder how different it still is from a Vieux-Temps, or the (already killed?) Ginder Ale... <P> Copper coloured, clear with big bubbles; and a very light-yellow tinted, rather persistent head. Quite leafy nose, bit of greenmalt, grassy, and I’d venture German hops. Touch of caramel and carboard. Caramel flavour, but not overly sweet. Again a bit sharp leafy taste. Light bodied, with a not really pleasant viscous streak at the back of the tongue. Bit burning sensation. This beer, with its neighbours as Ginder Ale, Vieux-Temps, but also Palm, Op-Ale, De Koninck, Speciale De Rijck etc. is real "Belgian ale", whereas the "Belgian Ale" by Ratebeer rather designates every top-fermenting, not overly strong beer from Belgium. The exact style designation is "Spéciale Belge". It’s a dying breed.

0.25l bottle at home. Light copper color with big white head, Some lacing remained. Malty aroma. Light sweet-bitter taste. It is a real shame that big companies are destroying these smaller but unique breweries as JorisPPattyn explained nicely. I prefer it to Stella but the profit goes to the same company.

Bottle. Clear dark yellow color with a average frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate yeasty, fruity, light toffee, light alcohol. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to lively.

Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is very fruity and mlty along with hints of yeast. Flavour the same. A refreshing beer, though a bit watery.

Some hops and biscuit in the aroma. Fruity flavor (apple, grapes) with hints of hops. A slight tartness. Maybe a bit flat and simple, but tasty enough for a session beer.

bottle at a cafe in Ieper (Ypres). Poured a nice deep amber with a solid white head inot the proper super-wide trappist glass. Sweet grassy aroma. falvor was not overly sweet, slightly dry and astringrant. Very watery. Not a great beer, but not bad. Very similar to Palm, except I have only seen this once.
