Very gushing brew! The beer starts malty, caramel. The mainpart is like "Blockmalz", a bit more bitter. In the aftertaste slightly dry, nice Blockmalz-taste, slightly bitter.
A very interesting Doppelbock. Nice dry and still highly drinkable! --> 10/12/11/10

Clear dark caramel colour, diminishing white head. Quite boozy aroma, caramel, red fruit, raisins, light madeira. Sweet flavour, raisins, malts. Bit thin. FInish malts, raisins. Quite cloying sweet. 6 months before the best before it already feels quite old. Not bad, but I’m not a real fan either.

Nice rusty brown color, good head, little bit too sweet for my liking. Otherwise good smooth, caramelly, taste of ripe berries.

Geruch nach Trockenobst, fruchtiger Geschmack. Kaum Bittere im Abgang, dafür aber gut eingestellte Restsüße und schön versteckter Alkohol.

Tayeth (213) - North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JAN 18, 2014

Padchenko (79) - Dublin, IRELAND - JAN 12, 2014
7.2% strong beer served in 500ml bottle. Very dark brown with minimal head. Ale-like - almost like a typical English ale but not thick or cloudy. Pleasant taste

Swing-top bottle. Molasses malt and light alcohol aroma. Medium brown with small head. Sweet molasses malt flavor. Decent.

Pours deep brown-red with a thick, light tan head. Cola aroma....caramel, dried fruit.... Sugar, toffee malt. Very sweet and chewy.... Tasty.

0,5l fles, donkerbruin bier met een crème schuimkraag. Karamel en gist in de geur en smaak.

ContemplateBeer (1524) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - DEC 29, 2013
Aroma: Very sweet, cloying caramel aroma. Not very complex, really. Appearance: Cola dark brown with a bubbly tan head that goes away completely in moments. Flavor: Matches the nose; sweet and one-dimensional. Palate: Light body, creamy texture, average carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: A subpar Doppelbock.
