Pours cherry wood dark with a thick creamy cap. Tastes like Fall weather: brown sugar, caramelized root vegetables, under baked pumpernickel bread. A little too syrupy for my taste. Enjoyable sipper on a grey rainy day with the bioshock soundtrack murmuring in the background.

Countbeer (5584) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - MAY 17, 2015
Bottle: Shaker: Meeium sized creamy head. Copper amber colored body. Aroma is a mix of caramel, malts, honey, herbs, darker fruits... Flavours of malts, caramel, toast, brown sugar tints, bitters, some prunes, marzipan and herbs... Aftertate is bitter, malty, caramel, honey and some herbs. Low carbo, creamy close to silky mouthfeel, more than just medium bodied. Nice stuff.

Pours brown with quickly dissipating white head. Minimal aroma of brown sugar. Minimal taste (though smooth). Tastes flat. A disappointment.

Bottle from the LCBO. Clear dark copper with a one finer tan head that fades quickly to a sheet. Nose is brown sugar with dark fruit and some floral and spice notes. Lightly sweet caramel and honey throughout with the faintest hint of fruity tartness. Thin slightly watery mouth with soft carbonation.

500ml bottle. Pours a clear dark chestnut brown with a burgundy tinge and a one finger tan head that disappeared quickly. Earthy notes, brown sugar, and light fruity floral notes on the nose. Taste wise, lighter bodied and sweet with brown sugar, raisin, light minerality, and a bit of a floral taste that leads into more of the same with some malt, and yeast in the finish. It’s by no means complex, but it’s solidly enjoyable in the world of bocks. I’d buy it again.
