3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 gilvanblight (686) - Windsor, Ontario, - MAR 21, 2009Stupid rate loosing pos laptop. Okay here is the short version: dark pour, head faded quick. Malty nutty scent. Rich, thick taste. Lots of malt and chocolat in the finish. Rather good but a bit much at once, wouldn’t want a bunch at once, but one bottle was nice. Would be good with food.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Snegurochka (320) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUN 2, 2013
500ml swing-top bottle. Courtesy of Jan Erik@"From Latvia with Alus Beer Session" 22.03.12. Dark brown body. Weak aroma of sweet malt, date, raisin, prunes and alcohol. Taste of cherry, date, nuts and almonds. Again there is the alcohol, which gives it a metallic finish. All in all there is just too much alcohol!
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Douberd (681) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 25, 2013
500 ml swing top bottle, bought in Germany. Poured into a snifter. ABV 7.2%
Colour is deep mahogany brown, with red ruby shades once hold against the light. One finger of off-white head, with average retention.
Aroma is mostly milky chocolate, with malts and hay on the background.
Taste is not much different than the aroma. Again, milky chocolate, malts, the hay, although less notable, a somewhat red wine-y taste but only for a glimpse, and after all of the above parade, the chocolate returns, much heavier now and with a good duration.
Medium thin to thick body, good carbonation and quite dry palate.
Overall, very tasty dobbelbock, I should keep an eye for those in Germany.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Acid303 (274) - Barcelona, CATALONIA, - MAY 15, 2013
50cl bottle, served in Weizen. Pours red-brown with small white frothy head. Both aroma and taste are caramel, red grape and ripe fruits. Sugary palate. Medium body, average carbonation. In short that’s what basically is, just add it’s well balanced and soft. Not difficult to drink for those who never tried a Doppelbock beer.
