Really poor, specially on taste side, for a dunkelweizen... Anyway... it’s not bad

Discreta, buona sui pasti vista l’alta bevibilità.

Hazy or almost cloudy brownish color. Ok lacing. A bit sour aroma. Ok body. Tad sweet and an moderate bitterness. Average carbonation. Rare fruity aroma. Ok body. Moderate sweet and moderate bitterness. Average to rich carbonation. Banana, wheat, fruity and bready flavor. Quite decent dunkel weisse.

Bottle from Munich Airport. Pours dark brown, off white head. Nose is nice. Fruity, wizen nose. Fragrant. Nose is caramel, toasted malt, banana, light dark dried fruit, prune, plum, creamy toffee, creamy wheat. Taste is caramel, plum, toffee, slight banana, slight acidic, maybe lemon, wheaty grain. Body is light bodied, touch watery.

Bottle. Pours a brown body, along with an average, pretty frothy, light brown head that diminishes quickly, leaving a good lace. Faint malty aroma, with notes of caramel, along with a light bittersweet taste, with some unpleasant metallic notes. Pretty thin bodied, average carbonation, watery texture. I had better dunkelweizen beers, but it was ok.

Flip-top 500ml bottle: opened 7 days after it’s BBD. Drank at home from a Wolnzacher Brauhaus tall half-litre glass tankard. Brown body with a red hue when held up to the light, mini-haze to the brew, on top a full and deep off-white blanket of bubbles which stayed the distance as the beer level sank. Slightly sour feel to the nose and taste, a bit off putting at first. Malty, grainy and yeasty aroma (and sourness) with the same esters in the flavouring. The beer grew on me as I progressed with the tasting, the initial off-putting sourness getting less and less important if not less in the senses. Herbal and spicy notes came into play as the beer warmed a little and the wheat element could clearly be detected later on. Nice refreshing bite to the beer, this is not like most in the style I have come across insomuch as it has no vanilla or banana hints within it’s make-up at all. OK and different, but the sourness at the start nearly ruined the tasting for me. Still think I might be spending some time on the loo tomorrow!

Taste is roasted malts, bananas and cereals with presence of high carbonation. Sweet and dry aftertaste. Not the best Dunkelweizen but not so bad. Next one please!
