2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Pours a cloudy brown-orange, huge beige head, high carbonation. Aroma: Cloves, malt, hints of orange, caramel. Palate: Thin for a weizen. Watery, kinda flat. Oily. Blech. Taste: Not as sweet as most weizens. Not much flavour there either. Ugh. Worst dunkelweizen I’ve had.

Bottled Beers of Europe. Bready, light cinnamon aroma. A bit thin but reasonably tasty, with a dry yeasty finish. Fairly carbonated; with some lightly sour ripe fruits.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a big creamy off-white head. Aroma is fruity yeast with banana, as well as roasted malts with bread and notes of coffee and chocolate. Quite light body with creamy texture and soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet with roasted malts and chocolate, as well as some notes of fruity yeast. Lightly burned finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I’m rather surprised at the low ratings on this, I’m really enjoying this one. Pours reddish brown with thick fluffy head, active carbonation keeps the head in place. Aroma of roast grains, toast, pumpernickel. Taste is smooth, milldy bitter, more pumpernickel and prunes. Usual weizen notes of banana and bubblegum in there too. Easy to drink, almost gone before the review is finished.

50cl bottle from Bon Voyage, Berlin. Pours hazy dark brown with a tan head. Lightly fruity aroma with banana, wheat, malt, spices, yeast and hints of caramel and roast. Pretty sweet with a bit weak wheaty flavour, some acidity and a slightly bitter finish. Medium body with average carbonation. Quite ok, but a bit weak in flavor.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from a duty free shop at Munich Airport way back in May but only just consuming it now. It showed its anger towards me at being forgotten by fizzing all over my kitchen when opened. Not much head on this but it might have had - I didn’t notice as I’ve spent the last 10 minutes wiping the kitchen surface, cupboards and floor. Brown like, er, well rather like the photo actually. Aroma of fruity spicy German stuff, like David Hasselhoff’s armpits after a game of Twister. Rather bland in the taste department though - light, abrupt, fizzy, thin, air. Having now worked my way through the box set of 4 I can safely say I won’t be bothering with this brewery again.

A brown beer, head is off-white. You can certainly smell and taste the wheat. Flavour is quite sweet for my taste, but there are some redeeming features in the finish. I quite enjoyed it.
