3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
I had this from a swing top bottle purchased from a Munich grocery. Surprisingly dark brown color for the style. Malt, and some salt also, with a finish of grain. OK, but forgettable.

The aroma is very malty with lots of caramel but not much in the way of hops. The appearance is red brown with a small head. The flavor has lots of sweet caramel malt with a little bitterness and yeast taste. The palate is thin. Overall it’s easy to drink but not that special.

19 OCT 07. 0.5L swing top bottle. Dark brown pour, like a Coca-Cola. Aroma of sweet malt. Flavor is of sweet, lightly roasty malts. Calming bitterness in the finish gives this balance.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
500ml bottle. Deep toffee brown color. Aroma of dark pungent fruit, sweet dark malt. Very smooth and malty, with almost no hop balance, maybe a smidgen. Reminiscent of a Dunkel but with the smooth yeasty pungency of a Bock. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel..quite nice. I don’t get the feeling that this bottle is very fresh, would love to try this one on tap.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a clear and brown beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is malt, caramel, bread and notes of fruit. The flavor follows the nose. The palate is sweetness. Overall a beer below average.

0.5l bottle, like on the picture, shared with and courtesy of ogivlado (thanks!)
Erm... Z/K/L? What the? This is brown. Must be some rare substyle... Anyway, as I said, brown body, with a medium sized fluffy white head that went away at a medium pace. The nose is dark malt & meat. Nothing too special. The taste is better, quite malty, bit grainy and somewhat woody.... some weak acidity. Pleasant, drinkable but very very one dimensional. I would’ve put this down as a simple dunkel.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Flip top from boardman. Barely any pop. Insignificant chocolate of careob aroma. Looks like very light root beer, almost cream soda. Nice sparkling unhazy appearance. Mild and fairly laid back except for that slight bitter malt nag. Goes down pretty easy. Decent carbonation. Back of throat pond water finish. On par with Moosbacher Kellerbier and voodoo pizilla.
