Draught@Kaisla, Helsinki. Cloudy pale color, white head. Wheaty aroma, some floral notes. Light, toasty flavor. Slightly uneven lingering finish. Medium body, high carbonation. Not that memorable.

Weizen del tedesco Höss der Hirschbräu, si tratta di una normale birra di frumento con una spiccata frizzantezza. Niente di particolare da segnalare, di certo non spicca.

Hazy golden, white non lasting white head. Aroma of cloves, little banana and more bread but not very strong. Taste is wheat malt and weakish banana and bread. Light bodied and somewhat watery. I’d say standard Hefeweizen without any wow factor.

Poured into a weizen glass in late 2013. A: Beautiful fluffy head. Yellow/orange body, opaque with yeast at top, see through at bottom. S: Wheat, citrus, slight banana. T: Wheat, citrus, very slight banana. Subtle, sweet yeast on the back end. Some apple, lemon. M: Very, very smooth. O: This one is very subtle and light as a feather. I do prefer stronger flavors in hefs than this one had, though.

Bottle from Munich Airport. Pale yellow to golden, little bit of haze, huge foam head. Nose isn’t hugely pleasant. There’s pale wheat grain, some creaminess, spice, estery banana, but something a bit stringent like nylon. Taste is decent though. Banana, wheat grain and pale malt, spice, creaminess, vanilla. My only complaint is it’s a touch on the watery side.

Me l’avevano fatta passare per una grande weizen, invece è solo una normalissima weizen...

On tap at the Irish pub Monahans at the Roxy hotel in Cape Vincent. Pours cloudy yellow with small head. Nose of banana and wheat. Tastes of banana, wheat and cloves. Well carbonated and refreshing but thinner and less body than the typical Hefe.

On tap at the Irish pub Monahans at the Roxy hotel in Cape Vincent. Took forever to figure out what beer this was. Just had a small sample of this citrus heavy hefty. Not super traditional in the form I like, but okay.

A.K.A Weisser Hirsch Allgäuer Weizen. Dark yellow color. Less turbid than the normal Weissbiers with non-lasting white foam. Aroma of banana, wheat, hops and clove. Very soft taste, compared to the others in the style, fruity and spicy touches. An interesting one.
