3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 BlackHaddock (2350) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 18, 2012
Feb 2009: Brown 50ml bottle, out of date by one month.
The third and final beer in one of my lager reviewing evenings (after Singha and Bangla). This isn’t a style I crave after, but I do appreciate any beer made well.
Crisp, sharp and very Czech Pilsner in every way.
This is a mister average with that little bit extra. Can’t put my finger on why it gets scores at 3.5, it just does.
It looks, tastes and has the feel of a good, well crafted Pilsner.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 CQC (224) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - AUG 29, 2008
A nice faint Sprucy nose... Nice Blond-ish looker. Nice sweetish taste with faint zest of vinager & paper. Nice quick residue free palete.Nice even rasp. A very good uncomplicated honest Czech Beer
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 onlyrocknroll (378) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - MAR 6, 2008
Attractive beer, pours clear gold with a fine sized sustained head. The aroma is quite grainy and mildly bitter. Sweet and grasy flavour, again with a little hop bitterness. Not qreat
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Doppelganger (1385) - Dry County, Arkansas, USA - DEC 16, 2007
Bottle, Dodgy Deli, Oxford. Light caramel, white head. Light herbal hops (dill), a bit of malty sweetness. Briskly carbonated, dark toasty malt, a bit of herbal/musky hops. A bit cresote in the finish, but I kind of like it. Not as hoppy as I was hoping, but really quite solid. Beat the red wine my wife was drinking as a pairing with a nice chalky farmhouse cheddar.

Another bottle carried home. Golden with medium head. Good hops and strong malt. Hint of fruit. Carbonation high. Very refreshing. A nice beer.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 imdownthepub (8470) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 26, 2006
Bottled, pasteurised, 500ml. Light golden beer with fizzed head. Sharp and slightly harsh lager beer heavily carbonated. Grainy deeper malt, crisp with a slight cardboard note and a little tinny from the gas. A hint of grapefruit in the body but very little hop impact. A fairly midling Czech Pilsner.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 iammadeofjelly (191) - Liverpool, Merseyside, ENGLAND - OCT 17, 2005
To compare, it’s like a sweeter version of Beck’s lager. Similar flavour colour and head. More bubbles than beck’s, average beer.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 Nekronos (3184) - Xalapa, MEXICO - SEP 29, 2005
UPDATED: FEB 7, 2006 Nice beer, nice flavor, nice foam, the flavor is a little strong, propper of the east Eruope beers, and I like that, an excellent Pilsnener, you would like it.

Very dissapointing for a Czech pils.No real flavour and very bland. What more can I say.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Papsoe (25131) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 18, 2005
(Bottle 50 cl) Award-winning pilsener - even in it’s home country. Fully golden with a pretty decent head. Very soft with a very malty, slightly sweetish touch with the hops adding more aroma than bitterness. A very nice pilsener although it doesn’t quite reach the level of Budweiser.
