A hazed copper amber ale with a thin bubbly off white head. In aroma, a smooth fruity malt with caramel, alcohol, very nice, marigolds. In mouth, a nice smooth biscuit malt with floral hops, citrus pulp, boozy. Cask at Ontario Cask IPA Challenge, April 21, 2012.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
3rd annual Ontario Cask IPA Challenge tasted blind. Hazy golden pour. The nose is tropical and citrusy. Fresh pineapple and mango. There are also some very light faint fruity esters. A bit of buttery character as it comes up but it seems to just lend a little bit of sweetness. Sort of medium-sweet palate along with a fairly vineous flavour. A little bit of toffee and some light stewed fruit as well. Pretty solid.

UPDATED: APR 25, 2012 2012-04-21. Very fruity aroma, sweet orange and hints at tropical fruit, very mild vegetation/green hops. 7+ Lightly hazy dark orange body with tiny head. Flavour ha similar sweet orange character, but less so. Green hop character is a bit stronger in the flavour, light bitterness, lingering leafy hops in the finish. Okay, bit too much green hop profile for me. 7+/3/7/3/15 Blind Tasting on Cask at Volo IPA Challenge
2010-04-01. Hazy dark orange amber with a lovely creamy beige head. Flavour is pleasant, modest bitterness throughout, enjoyable citrus melange, light alcohol in the finish. Modest resiny hops and malt character. Mild lightly yeasty aroma is "casky" - there is a better way to describe that but I can not quite pull it apart. Modest hops with mild citrus character. 7+ Smooth average plus palate is nice, especially for a cask. This is pretty solid. A little less crisply citrusy than I had hoped from hearing about it but quite enjoyable. 7/5/7/3/15 Cask at Volo, Toronto

[3597-20110218] Cask. Spruce and evergreen citrus hops aroma. Hazy, brown orange body with a quick bubbly white head. Bitter spruce and citrus zest flavour has a long bitter aftertaste. Medium body is quite bitter. Tasty! So many hops... Would love to see this again. (8/3/8/4/16) 3.9

Flavor and Palate : medium bodied. Woody ,leafy with streak of citrus fruit. Chewy texture on sides. Good malt profile for an IPA. Finish with citric hop on top of alcohol. Pleasant ale.

Cask at Volo. Pours a cloudy orange-copper with an average size semi-lasting frothy off-white head. Aroma’s quite resiny along with some definite cat pee action (that’s good!), some citrus fruit and some malt in the back. Flavour is, again, quite resiny along with cat pee and citrus fruit, well backed by sweet caramel malt. Nice long bitter finish. Medium bodied. Pretty good stuff.

Cask pint at Volo 2011-02-18. Sammy’s absolutely right - this one is halfway to being a DIPA - reminded me a lot of Flying Monkeys Smashbomb when it’s at its best. Borderline murky orange-amber pour with a solid and long-lasting creamy tan head - lovely for cask. Smells like .... C-hops for days, citrus bitterness and juiciness - hell, this is like a fresh fruit cocktail but with all the hops I like instead of cherries and pear chunks ... although it has tropical fruit character too, and hardly any alcohol. Taste - just the same - fresh citrus and pine resin bitterness, pineapple, mango, just the right amount of alcohol - heck, this is a little brother to a solid damned west coast IPA, no leaf, burnt grain, generic hop oil taste here! Solid mouthfeel, decent carbonation for cask, no booziness, bitter of course, but it starts slow and really builds up - damn this is fine. Ralph, this needs to be on offer all the time!

On cask at the Brickworks Farmers Market. Pours a murky dark amber colour with modest-sized eggshell-coloured head. Aroma is dank citrus with some herbal/resiny character and solid fruity/toffeish malt. Flavour is big dank citrusy hops with a bit of cattiness and a solid English-style maltiness underneath. Average plus body. Some lingering bitterness in the finish. Nice.
