On tap at Volo. Too dark to see what it looks like. Probably black. I’m gonna say black. Aroma is the typical mix of chocolat/java and resiny hops. The flavour is solid, if unspectacular. But the body is great - full and creamy. Maybe some oatmeal in there?

Nice blend of chocolate and grapefruit hops in the nose. Opaque dark brown under large, tan bubbles. Faint diacetyl behind a nice, tart chocolate and a crapload of US hops; grapefruit and more complex characteristics. Medium to full body, moderate carbonation, lingering black malt character in the finish.

Grey Cup 2012. Tap at C’est What. Black beer with a sexy golden brown head and light lace. Dark malt scent. Flavour has strong alcohol note. Black chocolate hoppy and tasty.

From notes, at Bar Volo. Pours a very dark colour with almost no head. Aroma of hops and roasted grains. Flavours of nice hop bitter, some yeast notes and slightly sweet toasted malts.

A brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a smooth chocolate malt with roasted coffee, light vanilla, nice. In mouth, a smooth sweet and bitter chocolate, vanilla, light licorice. Cask at Beau’s Oktoberfest Sept 29 2012.

Black color; almost no head. The aroma is mild, some roasted malt, but also some apple, therefore the fermentation process should be tuned up. Good body strength, round, with good dark caramel flavor, some chocolate, medium-strong bitterness.
Rough but pleasant.

cask days @ beau’s oktoberfest, 2012. relatively clear medium dark brown, low head. lots of roasted and fruity malts, if at all possible. berries, annedda feeling, chocolate, spruce. medium body, soft carbonation, medium long piney-coffee finish

Cask at Vankleek Hill’s/Beau’s Oktoberfest. A reddish/brown black ale with a short-lasting beige head. Smell is roast and chocolate. Taste is sweet, brown sugar, chocolate, caramel, molasses. Finish is quite herbal and boozey. Herbal finish is quite lingering! Body is thick, mouthfeel is sticky. No carbonation at all. Pretty good dark ale!
