Draught at Volo, Toronto
Black color; almost no head. The aroma is mild, some roasted malt, but also some apple, therefore the fermentation process should be tuned up. Good body strength, round, with good dark caramel flavor, some chocolate, medium-strong bitterness.
Rough but pleasant.

Cask at Vankleek Hill’s/Beau’s Oktoberfest. A reddish/brown black ale with a short-lasting beige head. Smell is roast and chocolate. Taste is sweet, brown sugar, chocolate, caramel, molasses. Finish is quite herbal and boozey. Herbal finish is quite lingering! Body is thick, mouthfeel is sticky. No carbonation at all. Pretty good dark ale!

Easily the best bipa Ive ever had. This pulls this hybrid style together and makes me see everything it could, (and should) be. The aroma is smoked hops, smoked malt. Lacing great with thick head pour. Taste has soft carbonation, hoppy bitters and some stout-like sourness at the end. Great palate and full profile. Cask at volos

On tap at Volo. Pitch black with a thin tan head. Aroma is slightly roasty, with big fruity hops - fantastic! In the flavour we have roast, licorice, cream, hops, and a bitter finish. Big huge body. Just what a Black IPA should be!

Draught at Volo. Opaque brown / black colour in a tulip glass. Tropical fruits in the aroma with roasted malts. Resinous. Avocado, white grapefruit, orange zest. Full bodied and chewy. Bitter flavour with ruby grapefruit, clementine orange, citrus zest, pine. Nice malt balance. Some lactose. Fruity tropical finish with mango.
