Black color; almost no head. The aroma is mild, some roasted malt, but also some apple, therefore the fermentation process should be tuned up. Good body strength, round, with good dark caramel flavor, some chocolate, medium-strong bitterness.
Rough but pleasant.

On tap at Bar Volo, pours black with a medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, piney hops, and some citrusy notes - nice and roasted. Flavour is a wonderful balance of roasted malt and piney hops, with a fairly astringent finish. Creamy mouthfeel. Wonderful stuff.

A brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a smooth chocolate malt with roasted coffee, light vanilla, nice. In mouth, a smooth sweet and bitter chocolate, vanilla, light licorice. Cask at Beau’s Oktoberfest Sept 29 2012.

2012-01-19. Black body with a nice foamy tan head. Interesting flavour, pleasant bitterness, interesting hop profile, leafy with interesting malt character, dusty notes, muted fruit, toasty English malt undertones. 7+ Nice leafy green hop aroma, mild citrus and fruit undertones. Some roast comes out as it warms. Smooth average bodied plate. Nice, interesting melange of flavours. Cask at Volo, Toronto

Cask at Volo. First of all - great name. It appeals to my inner chemist. Deep black with a tight creamy amber/brown head. The aroma is soft and resiny. A light pine and woody hop aroma over some soft cocoa. A bit of roast and some char as well. Assertively hopped with a nice grey bitterness on the back. Sticky sort of pine resin on the palate along with some nice cocoa accentuating the bitterness. It’s got a fantastic mouthfeel - soft carbonation and a silky smooth palate. Rich and creamy that is then cut by the bitterness. Nice stuff - to another hundred batches!

[4254-20120119] Cask. Candy evergreen roast hops aroma. Black body with a medium-lasting foamy light tan head. Burnt breadcrumbs and roasted leaves flavour has a long leafy aftertaste. Full body. Super tasty, drinkable. (7/4-/8/4/16) 3.9

Easily the best bipa Ive ever had. This pulls this hybrid style together and makes me see everything it could, (and should) be. The aroma is smoked hops, smoked malt. Lacing great with thick head pour. Taste has soft carbonation, hoppy bitters and some stout-like sourness at the end. Great palate and full profile. Cask at volos
