BlackHaddock (4964) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JUN 22, 2015
500ml bottle poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard at home on 22nd June 2015. Hazy golden body with a full, deep and lasting off-white foam blanket for a head. The aroma was both fruity and biscuit: anyone like Garibaldi biscuits, but sweeter and not just currents. The taste is also a sweet blend with the malts winning the flavour stakes throughout the brew. Tasty and robust in nature the body feel is just right and suits the alcohol level nicely. A very pleasant early evening pint.

Theydon_Bois (12848) - Tourist Town (West), Berkshire, ENGLAND - NOV 11, 2013
Bottle shared on the train from Inverness to Plockton, from Tomlinsons, 19/10/13. Very lightly hazed golden with a moderate off white covering that retains well. Nose is toasted malts, orange, grass, citric tang. Taste comprises pale malts, cereal, light citrus, summer fruits, orange sherbet. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish with a little bitterness. A whelming affair, didn’t have this down as a bitter, more Golden Blond for me.

Medium offwhite head. Clear amber body. Floral orangey aroma with resiny notes. Dry-sweet-acidic earthy vinegary taste with strawy notes. Light body. Mild mouthfeel. Dry-acidic wooden orangey aftertaste. Yuk. Lightly infected. (0.5l bottle, from Clarke’s, Whitby. Batch #2992.)
