cask, special
A sophisticated dark wheat beer bursting with caramelised, chocolatey, roast flavours. "Pure Brewed" with a mixed mash of wheat and barley malts, this ale may have a natural haze. German Hallertau Mittlefruh and Tettnang hops. PROST !

Cask @ Standing Order, Edinburgh [070913]
Orange, hazy, thin white head, touch of lacing
Aroma - Soft spices, bit sour fruits, dab of cake spices, old lemon zest
Taste of soft zest, soft spices, some sour lemon citrus
Palate - medium body, quite oily, fairly sweet palate. Finish as main flavour, quite spicy, dab of sour lemon
Overall - Absoutely not a dunkelweizen at all - some type of hefe perhaps, no idea what itís supposed to be, but itís not too bad

This was grim. Hazy orange. Caramel malt, wheat and some smoke. Light sweet on the tounge with a really sour, yeasty finish. Quite tart. Oily texture, light carbonation. This was a real struggle.

Cask @ The Counting House JDW. Cloudy amber brown, reasonable head. Mild grain malt aroma. Sour wheaty malt flavour. Sour aftertaste. Not sure what this is. It is not a dunkelweizen & is not very good.

From tap at Red Squirrel. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is toasted malty and light estery. Breadish, caramelish and biscuit. Bitter and dry malty. Easy.

Cask in the POW. Poured dark like a traditional version of the style. but not really as flavoursome as it should be. Aroma of caramel malt and flavour of toffee malt with minimal aftertaste.
