Scopey (7183) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 24, 2012
Cask at the Castle Tavern, Inverness. It pours clear golden yellow, with a medium white head. The nose is sweet pale malt, biscuit and light farmyard notes. The taste is sweet malt, straw, citrus pith and faint floral notes, with a dry finish. Light-medium body and soft carbonation. An above average golden, pretty well balanced and drinkable.

Had a half of this one from cask at JDWs Edward Wylie. The body colour is golden heading towards amber. Fragile layer at the top, laces well. Plain fruit hoppy aroma. Hoppy flavour with notes of dried fruits. Bittersweet ending. Easy to drink (Glasgow, 13.04.2012).

First tasted this in the Fox & Hounds in July 1999. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale straw in colour with a thin creamy white head. Fresh floral note on the nose along with zesty lemon peel. Thin but refreshing mouthfeel and good lacing throughout. Pale malt gives a juicy fruit base with tangy grapefruit and lemon notes that vie for attention. Dusty hop resins impart a citric note to the dry aftertaste which compliments the malt exceptionally well. Prefer this to Deuchars IPA anyday. A decent session Golden Ale and well recommended.

[cask at SRAFí11] Clear golden pour with a thin white head. Some hop on the nose, together with a vague malt sweetness. The balance is there on the taste as well Ė this is clearly well-made, but just a bit too insipid. Finish fades away rather than ending dry, the faint hop profile peters out (no pun intended) [16062011]
