3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hovels has a thick, fluffy, very light beige head and a mostly clear (but, with tiny floating specks throughout), copper-colored appearance, with some streaming bubbles and a fair amount of lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet & sour sauce, faint grain, and a little sting in the nose. Taste is of brown bread (Roman Meal brand), molasses, lightly-toasted malt, and a shot of hop bitterness showing itself in mid sip. Also, a shade of paperiness is detected in the undertaste. Mouthfeel is mostly watery, and Hovels finishes refreshing, mild, and highly drinkable. This is a very good light beer. RJT

This was 0kay, but pr0bably w0uld have been much better had it n0t traveled t0 Chicag0 in a green b0ttle. It had a light orange b0dy with a t0uch 0f brown, a creamy head, and sheets 0f slippery lace. The ar0ma was "beery," with dark wheat bread and a hit f s0lid earth. The flav0r was much the same, adding a bit 0f sweetness and having a grassy/earthy finish. 0kay.
