3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
1L swingtop from Malt & Vine. Pours hazy amber gold with a foamy white head. Light aromas of floral and fruit. Med body. Frothy carb. Flavor is floral, light stone fruit, touch of citrus, light malt, and something that makes me think of matches. Guess the main thing is the hop and malt, which is always followed by a herbiness til the next mouthful. It’s quite dry, certainly bitter. I’d say they nailed the style. If I’m being a bit harsh, I think it’s because I keep thinking ESB, which it isn’t. Nice shot at a bit of over the pond.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very pale golden beer. Very fresh crackery malt aroma. Light wheaty/spicy notes. Flavour also shows a very clean, crisp malt base with a touch of pleasant fruity estery character. Clean, well-balanced and easy to drink... just what you want in a bitter.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours with a clear golden body and a large white head. Head lasts for a while and produces pretty decent lace. Aromas are grassy with notes of toasted bread, doughy bread, pepper, tangerine and a light hint of dried fruits. Flavors are grainy, bready and grassy. Possibly a hint of diacetyl buttery-ness. Decently bitter finishing with notes of dried tangerine. Medium to lively carbonation. Medium dry finish. Crisp and bitter.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
2009-07-26. Golden yellow-orange body with a nice foamy beige head. (3+) Mild hoppy aroma, grassy notes, muted malts. Mild flavour is grainy, light bitterness, grassy touches in the hops, very light astringency in the back end. Average to light palate. Okay, but too mild. Bottle shared by Jon Walker

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Big 1L swingtop shared with Parksy. Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with an average white head. Grainy aroma with soft grassy notes and fruity perfume, reminding me a little of orange blossom. This delicate nuance was lost after the beer rested however. Flavour was of pale malts with a kiss of fruity hops and low bitterness. More like a golden ale IMHO.

Bottle at PilsnerPeter’s Spring Gathering. Pours a clear golden yellow with a medium white head. Smells of lager style grain and a bit of hops. More grain on a medium body. Bitter, tannic, lightly quinine like, but with no grapefruit character.
