A traditional oatmeal stout with an intense roast barley flavors and mildly hopped using Willamette and Nugget hops. The robust flavour is balanced with a smooth creamy finish. It is named for the razor’s edge ridge that comes off the south flank of Mount Garibaldi’s Atwell Peak

Pours a nice black colour with a tan head that hangs around to the bottom. The taste is of light burnt coffee, bitter chocolate, caramel, oats and some earthy hops. Not as smooth as some with that bitter kick, but very nice.

1 L swingtop. Pours jet and opaque with a thin disc of foam resembling a lunar landscape. Nose is bittersweet chocolate, caramel, chicory coffee with cream, and a touch of smoky iron. Tastes of blackstrap molasses, coffee with cream, prickly green herb, a bit of blackberry and cocoa. Near-medium body is watery and leans to the sweet side, but the acidic roast and slightly metallic mineral note provides a nice balance. Medium-high carbonation never becomes overbearing.

Poured from tap, beautiful dark with tan head. Roasted malt flavours. Good full mouthfeel that’s balanced by the bitterness.

Parfum agréable de marc de café et de céréales grillées... Au goût, c’est un peu mince (aqueux) et on note un côté terreux et un brin lactique à la fois. Très bon stout!!

Part of a beer being good for me is that is can back up the claims that it makes. This fine beer delivers on all fronts and doesn’t pretend to be something else. It’s a big, black, tan topped, chewy bodied pal. One litre of pure ebony goodness in a bottle; big chocolate and roasted malt notes comprise both nose and taste, some light nuttiness as well. The mouthfeel is just great, not too flat but instead with some bite and a satisfying chomp. I would drink this anytime.

Bottle - 1L swing-top crowned. Black pour with a tall, dense, foamy tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, burnt grains, coffee and soft hops. Taste is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate malt, burnt oatmeal, soft hops notes and caramel. Body is medium with a soft, bubbly carbonation. Ends with more caramel, coffee, roasted malt, chocolate notes and burnt oatmeal.
