Nice tan head. Aromas somewhat subdued. Great balance of roasted malt, chocolate, oatmeal, and coffee character. Very creamy and rich on the palate, with pleasant bitterness to balance.

If you’re in need of an unbalanced, watered down oatmeal stout with a great looking bottle you should seek out Howe Sound’s Diamond Head. There will be a large amount of regret free with your purchase in the form of realizing you could have bought 4 Sam Smith Oatmeal Stouts for the price of one of these disappointments.

Nutty aromas with chocolate milk on the nose. Mild malt and a creamy finish. Lightly hopped. Kudos for the closable bottle and being just as good on the second day.

Deep brown, almost black body with a foamy/frothy white tan head. Aroma is sweet with a touch of nut. Taste is sweet but with a bitter nuttiness and oats. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a nice black colour with a tan head that hangs around to the bottom. The taste is of light burnt coffee, bitter chocolate, caramel, oats and some earthy hops. Not as smooth as some with that bitter kick, but very nice.

Pours a dark black color with a roasted barley aroma. Flavor is true oatmeal, mixed with chocolate hops. Slight bitter yet smooth finish, with oatmeal taste dominating the beer.

1 L swingtop. Pours jet and opaque with a thin disc of foam resembling a lunar landscape. Nose is bittersweet chocolate, caramel, chicory coffee with cream, and a touch of smoky iron. Tastes of blackstrap molasses, coffee with cream, prickly green herb, a bit of blackberry and cocoa. Near-medium body is watery and leans to the sweet side, but the acidic roast and slightly metallic mineral note provides a nice balance. Medium-high carbonation never becomes overbearing.
