4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Powertrip (999) - Calgary, Alberta, - DEC 27, 2009Foggy light red colour (like a winter’s fog settling in on a town) with medium head. Huge nose bursting with cherries, plums, sugar cane, lime and exotic spices. I could smell this one all day long! Rarely do I come across such a lively and rich nose. The taste starts off exactly the same, with gigantic malt and more cherries. Mid palate shows a hint of pepper and some salt water taffee, with a finish that’s surprisingly short but quietly rich in citrus. An extremely well-crafted beer which should be in everyones fridge at some point or another, a real gem!

Poured from a 1L bottle. Clear copper colour with nice white head. Nutty caramel malt aroma. Vanilla, nutmeg, toffee, mint to taste.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 nuplastikk (3284) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 31, 2013
One Liter jug-style bottle. Unfiltered glowing orange-red body. Steady, creamy beige head. Big spicy fruitcake beer. To me it really has a festive, Wassail thing going on. Easy, watery mouthfeel. Ginger, nutmeg, orange peel. Tastes a little old, like it sat on the shelves too long. OK, but I wouldn’t really want to drink the whole bottle myself.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Reimer96 (589) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 27, 2012
Pours a cloudy dark copper with a red hue. Pours with a off white head that dissipates quickly into a ring. Aroma of sweet caramel malts, cinnamon toast, Vanilla & gingerbread. Taste of toffee, cinnamon, figs/dates, hint of vanilla and then finishes with a nice alcohol warming. Nice winter warmer.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 andrewturba (456) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 25, 2012
Pours a dark copper with a reddish tinge. Decent off white head slowly turning into a decent ring leaving some lace up the glass. Aromas of nutmeg, gingerbread, vanilla, sweet caramel. Flavours consist of vanilla, toffee, cinnamon, some booze, and a bit of a sweet dark fruitiness.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 dresden (519) - Saskatchewan, CANADA - DEC 14, 2012
Amber brown with a tan head. Lots of mulling spices, smells of gingerbread and dark fruit. Quite sweet, finishes dry. Some clove, some ginger, not too bad for the style.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 gramity (1055) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 4, 2012
Pours deep amber with a medium off white head...aroma is full of christmas spice, citrus, clove, cinnamon and yeast, fruity malts...flavour is similar with a nice tannic note to offset the malt...interesting stuff...
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 stantheman (362) - British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 16, 2012
On tap at Hops in New West. A dark reddish amber color. It’s another maxi-pour, so not much reading on head or nose. Flavor is of a fruity malty character, but watery to this palate. A bit of hops there somewhere, perhaps, but who knows?
Oh yeah..."complex blend of spices"? I remain to be convinced on that statement.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Gerbeer (857) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 8, 2012
On tap. Pours brown with little head. Aromas of malt and spice. Heavy spice flavors of nutmeg and all spice. Simply a pumpkin beer a month later. Needs to be fuller and sweeter to balance the spice and pass as a Xmas beer in my mind. Pass
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 HogTownHarry (5638) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - SEP 10, 2012
September 20, 2011 - bottle sample at Volo. Clear bright deep ruby with an average frothy white creamy head. Some alcohol in the aroma, also leafy bitterness, nutshell ... a bit spicy, but dry, and not terribly sweet - cereal grain, a bit toasty. Taste is very pleasant - again, I get a hint of red wine in their beers - odd! - simple spice and a bit like a yeasty nutty fruitcake, but hoppy and slightly alcoholic. Sticky, decent body, mild carbonation with a quick finish.
