Pours a clear golden amber color color with a fluffy white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of banana, clove, bubblegum and a nice alcohol burn. Taste is a good balance of cloves and bananas, Wheat and a nice balanced alcohol warmth. Excellent imperial hefe.

Pours a clear golden/amber colour with a thin small white head. Aroma is spicy cloves, fruity, moderate banana, and some alcohol. Flavour is spicy cloves, spicy yeast, fruity, alcohol and a malty/wheat backbone. A good full mouth feel, and session-able for a nice summer night.

Une blanche claire avec les notes d’agrumes est une mousse moyenne. Très bonne pour une bièrre de la région de Vancouver mais il peut pas comparer avec la même syle des bières d’allemand.

Looks like apricot juice when poured. Smells like one too. Well.. I guess I’m the opposite of the review below me. Past weizenbocks I’ve had had more of a dark fruit character, this one had more banana. Very little finish, refreshing instead of yeasty... which makes it feel refreshing, dangerous for a higher alcohol beer.

September 20, 2011 - bottle sample at Volo. Very hazy light orange with an average diminishing off-white head. Smells great - spicy cloves, some alcohol, fruity, but not a lot of banana for a change, mostly apple and yeast and some floral character. Taste follows - definitely strong alcohol, but there’s enough malt to hold up to it. Thick and spicy mouthfeel, good carbonation, a nice yeasty/fruity finish and NO aftertaste - it’s there and good, then just .... gone. Cool!

UPDATED: AUG 8, 2014 On tap at eTap on Howe St. In Vancouver. My first heffy in a while and a very nice one at that!

More recently on tap at Alibi Room in Vancouver. Still a very pleasant impy hefeweizen. Apologies in advance as I’m not a brewer, or otherwise an expert; I get the weizen part, but not the bock part. I thought bocks are dark. Anyway, a nice summer brew.

And July 27, 2014 at Rivers Reach in New Westminster. Still a great hefeweizen. Previously missed notes of banana are quite evident, probably because it’s only my second small beer of the day. Cheers!

And August 08, 2014 at Oscar’s Pub in Vancouver. Yep, there’s that banana and perhaps a hint of clove. Delightful after a 2 hour walk about the neighbourhood. 3.7.

(Originally written for Summer 2011 issue of TAPS Magazine.) Some folks – such as my compatriot Mr. Beaumont – may take exception to the “Imperial” descriptor, but whether it’s technically correct or not, this is still a damn big beer: Big 1 litre swing-top bottle; big 7.7% abv; big and creamy white head sitting on top of a turbid burnt orange body; big aromas and flavours of banana, clove and pineapple, with supporting notes of lemon, bubblegum, and pepper. Imperial? Hell, when a beer is this good they can call it whatever they want.

On tap. Pours a murky yellow with medium head. Typical hefeweizen nose of bananas with spice and floral hints. Thick and full bodied. Flavors of grain, bread, and bananas. Nice.

Cloudy orange with a small pale head. Aroma is banana, peach, apricot, caramel, cloves. Creamy mouthfeel, slightly sweet on the palate, smooth finish. Taste is wheat, banana, hint of peach. Tasty and refreshing.

Pours a bit dark amber, hazy, five finger white fluffy head. Smell is an amazing hefeweizen smell of banana and clove, really soft, sweet, and a tiny hint of alcohol. Taste is gum and banana. Very drinkable and refreshing, but very little carbonation. Good.
