Giant swing-top shared with my father-in-law. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a dense, marshmallowy head. Nice aroma and flavours of banana, spices, and estery yeast. Creamy mouthfeel, smooth and silky. Fantastic hefe!

On tap. Deep gold with nice big head that dissipates quickly. No lace. Taste and aroma of banana and clove. The high alcohol is well-hidden. Low to medium carbonation. Very good wheat ale.

Draught at The Alibi Room, Vancouver, BC, Canada.
Hazy orange colour with small white head. Wheat, banana, fruits, some yeast in aroma. Full and rich Weizenbock like aroma. Wheat, banana, fruits and bitter hops in balanced flavour. Just plain delicious. Very much Weizenbock like.

Very strong banana in the aroma with underlying notes of bubblegum. Opaque golden body is topped by a generous and lasting, fine bubbled, white head that laces the sides of the glass nicely. Flavour is as the aroma suggest with big banana esters but here they are backed up by a pleasant wheat flavour with some clove and citrus in the finish. Medium fully body with expansive carbonation and soft bubbly texture that fills the mouth and engages the tongue, cheeks and palate. Really nice mouthfeel. Alcohol is never apparent. Tulip glass. Just above fridge temperature. 1L swingtop bottle purchased at the BCLS at Hellsgate in July 2010.

1L bottle from BC Liquor Store. Pours a standard hazy golden with thin head. Aroma is banana, citrus hops with yeast and slight barnyard. Taste is solid and complex with great floral hop, mixed with the alcohol and tropical fruit. Finish lingers nicely. Decent Hefeweizen but no Dennisons.

Swing top bottle thanks to someone at Sour Fest. Pours with a hazy golden body and a small white head. Aroma is banana, vanilla and alcohol. Taste is banana, vanilla and clove. Alcohol is slightly more hidden on the palate than it was in the aroma.

(1 litre swing-top) Purchased at Hillside Liquors in Saanich, BC. Pours a lasting white head that settles to a thin webbing. The body is orange-amber in colour, slightly cloudy and heavily carbonated. Looks pretty darn tasty. Nose is mildly metallic, banana and citrus. Good texture, strong banana notes and some lasting alcoholic notes through the finish. This really is one of the closest I’ve tastes to the German originators. A fine, fine beer.

UPDATED: MAY 23, 2011 On tap at the Alibi Room, pours cloudy blond / orange. Aroma and flavour of banana, caramel malt, citrus, clove and wheat. The higher ABV is not noticeable, but the taste is full-bodied. Delicious offering from Howe Sound.
