Hazy golden color with a small white head. Nose is mostly banana with some spices (Cloves or Coriander). Extremely sweet mouthfeel but itís still does a good job balancing the sweetness with the alcool and the small hop finish . Very nice sweet beer

Not a huge fan of this, but Iím glad I tried it. The beer looked great with its dark hazy straw colour, with a frothy head that was quickly gone. Aroma was of grapes, citrus, wheat, grass, and coriander. The taste wasnít very pleasant, which included grapes, bubblegum, citrus, and musty old booziness. I also found the body a little off putting with a sweet syrup taste and low carbonation, that left some tingle on the tongue.

I have never really had this style (I donít think, these categories are getting quite hipsterish and foggy) but for a first foray into such territory it was pretty okay. Hazy copper with a lasting white head. All of the usual scent-suspects were present; wheat, yeast, coriander, orange and honey. The taste is where the Imperial kicked things up a notch. A light fruitcake taste accompanied by bubblegum and basement. The warmth of the booze does come through on this but the alcohol is mostly quite subdued. Tíis a wee bit syrupy and low carbo so not your typical warm day fare.

Golden color with fluffy white head. Banana and clove notes. Taste is the same with a hint of wheat and grain. Slight booze as it warms. Nice body, medium, definitely more weizen bock than hefeweizen.

1 L swingtop. Mostly clear orange-amber with a lasting rocky foam. Nose is spicy banana bread, caramel, wheat and lemony bread yeast. Taste is more of the same goodness plus a bit of roasted walnut, bubblegum, and dry grass on the finish. Medium-heavy body is full of malty sweet goodness, but the acidic yeast and a bit of hops do just enough to keep the balance. Low-medium carbonation keeps it smooth and slick. Thereís just a nice hint of the abv.

Draft, from the brewery in Squamish. Pours amber, great appearance, strong taste or coriander and banana. If youíre in the area, the 1L bottle is only 7$cad here compared to 12 at the liquor stores. Bought a few, good beer.

I have had this beer over three days. Day one there was a large presence of a bitterness like under ripened banana peel. This taste explains why I have had a few reviewers mentioned a chemical like presence. At least I presume this is what they were also picking up on. This beers high ABV has thinned the body and added a wonderful warming effect to the beer. Main characters included the already mentioned bitterness, lemon and a heavy amount of clove and coriander. But due either the role of oxygen in the bottle or the addition of the yeast this beer improved greatly. The aforementioned bitterness was minimal and no longer distracting me from the lemon, vanilla and bannana notes. The beer moved from a heavily sweet and spiced beer with a unique but slightly unpleasant bitterness to a wonderful balance of spices, fresh citrus and banana. If this is due to yeast I wish they would add more to the bottle or filter less out. I am pretty sure it is the yeast apposed to oxidation as my second tasting was identical to the first and the third was so much better. If you enjoyed this beer I would suggest you try La Buteuse by Le Trou du Diable. It matches a wonderful balance between sweetness and fruit, much like king heffy but with a bitter finish. Unlike this beer the first glass is as good as the last! Cheers

Bottle. Slightly cloudy golden pour, with a decent white head. Smells and drinks more like a Belgian strong ale or tripel - full-bodied and warm, citrusy, light spices. Not amazing, but pretty tasty.

Bottle. Hazy golden fruit color with a frothy, sudsy head. The aroma is sweet banana creme. This drinks with a super-sugary flavor, lemonade, meringue, heavy cream. They might market this as a dessert beer. Not my bag -- far too sweet. (#5565, 6/25/2014)
