3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Looks like apricot juice when poured. Smells like one too. Well.. I guess I’m the opposite of the review below me. Past weizenbocks I’ve had had more of a dark fruit character, this one had more banana. Very little finish, refreshing instead of yeasty... which makes it feel refreshing, dangerous for a higher alcohol beer.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: hazy, golden, light head and no lace. Very lifted, estery, fruity, banana, yeast & spice. Reasonably dry, fresh but not sour and moderate to moderately high bitterness. Good weight and depth of flavor. Like the flavor and aroma but just a little heavy and sweet. Slightly more CO2 might help.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A quite good hef. Pours an ugly orange with a thin white head. Smells of wheat, peach and honey. Taste is quite nice, lots of peach and honey and a sweet wheat finish. Paired with blue cheese raspberry salad, the peach is brought out extensively. Quite nice. Had in the bottle.

Nice two inch head. Nice amber color. Mild wheat aroma. Very mild and crisp taste in your mouth. A little bitter going doing with a nice wheat after taste.

The beer pours a hazed dark golden-orange with a long lasting white head. Aroma is wheat, clove, banana, and citrus. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is sweet and spicy with notes of wheat and bubblegum.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
The aroma is a bit yeasty but not very much like the style. The appearance is cloudy dark gold. The taste is not sweet. The palate is average. Overall it’s barely average.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from Julio’s. Pours out a cloudy light orange color. Frothy head disappears quickly. There is a Hefeweizen hidden in here, but somehow the funk and the boozy flavors dominate. Very muddled.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I have never really had this style (I don’t think, these categories are getting quite hipsterish and foggy) but for a first foray into such territory it was pretty okay. Hazy copper with a lasting white head. All of the usual scent-suspects were present; wheat, yeast, coriander, orange and honey. The taste is where the Imperial kicked things up a notch. A light fruitcake taste accompanied by bubblegum and basement. The warmth of the booze does come through on this but the alcohol is mostly quite subdued. T’is a wee bit syrupy and low carbo so not your typical warm day fare.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Owl Farm, Brooklyn tap: Pours cloudy orange with a white head. Aroma is spicy, with light banana notes (I was expecting much more), some spiciness, light hoppiness, and bubblegum. Taste, at first, seemed to me like that of a Belgian ale. Only after a few sips did I really get the sense of what the brewers were going for in the beer. In any case, it wasn’t bad.
