Trev (448), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA Mar 17, 2008 Nice dark copper pour with a big creamy head. Vanilla, butterscotch and biscuit aroma.
Flavour was sweet caramel and toast, sugary zing but overall a bit weak and watery impression for me.
Cashier had claimed that lots of people were keen on this one, but it’s charm was lost on me...
joss (3044), Garching b. München, Germany Jul 2, 2008 1L bottle. Spicy malt aroma, light honey , light aromatic hops. Mahagony colour, tanned head, big bubbles. Good malty base, light roast, slight honey sweetness and a proper hop balance. Falls a bit shy in the body department - lacks chewyness in the finish. Nevertheless quite enjoyable. presario (2382), Calgary, Alberta, Canada May 22, 2008 Bottle. Dark amber. Good off-white head and lace. Malt and yeast aroma. A bit chewy. Caramel grows from thin young-tasting to very nice middle. Hint of roughness and hops in the finish. Malakin (465), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Apr 15, 2008 Clear copper with a musty, caramel aroma. Flavour is more of the same with a bit of earthyness. DuffMan (1844), Calgary (back from 1yr in AUS), Alberta, Canada Mar 24, 2008 1L swingtop. clear amber brown, vanilla-tinged head. Straight shooting toffee-nut, a little earthy, a little fruity. Approachable, a little thin, but enjoyable.
