Pours an opaque black with a medium sized light brown head and a bunch of small spots of lace on the glass. Aroma is roasted malts, cocoa, licorice, and dark chocolate. Flavour is roasted malts, cocoa, licorice, dark chocolate, medium bitterness, and moderate sweetness with a burnt malt type dryness.

Pours an opaque black with a frothy brown head. Aroma of roasted barley, chocolate, cocoa, anise, fennel and sweet black licorice. Taste is black licorice, anise, fennel, dark chocolate, roasted malt and coffee bitterness. Excellent full bodied imperial stout that has lots of black licorice flavor but very complex and balanced. Howe sound has done it again!

Bottle... Pours nearly black. Olfactory standouts are fudge and vanilla. Full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and lazy carbonation. The flavor is an intermingling of roasty, sweet, dark chocolate malts and medium bitter hops. Finishes sweet and chocolaty.

Pretty much black in color with a deep brown head. Roasty up front followed by a really nice hit of chocolate and espresso notes. Good hop flavor without being overly bitter. Oily body. Good.

Dark brown pour with fluffy medium sized tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, molasses and coffee. Taste of roasted malts, espresso, unsweetened dark chocolate, faint molasses and slight hops. Full bodied, medium carbonation and a long heavy roastiness finish, slightly dry. Good beer.

Poured from 1L bottle. Black with tan head. Medium coffee aroma with some leather and very subtle smoke. Not very aromatic overall. Taste is decently sweet with chocolate and roast malt, some mild coffee flavours come through. Medium thick, creamy texture.

Pours a very dark brown to black with a lasting brown head. Taste is true to form for an Imperial Stout. Malty, caramel, chocolate, roast, with a resonant alcohol feel in the mouth. Not terribly aromatic compared to other styles, but nice. A solid beer!
