4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours pitch black with a frothy tan head. Aroma is of roasted malts, a little chocolate and coffee and some alcohol notes. Taste is rich and sweet with an understated dryness and very slight bitterness. Full body, softer carbonation, smooth on the palate. Overall a very enjoyable brew.

Bottle. Sweet and resinous chocolate aroma with some red fruit and vanilla. Opaque black with clear brown highlights under an eternal, creamy tan flannel blanket. Potent dark chocolate and pumpernickel and vanilla flavour with light sherry, nutty notes and very faint red fruit. Full body, moderate carbonation, slightly warming.

Mmm. Thick white head that lingers, with a nice mouthfeel, and the longest deep cocoa finish. Yum. This is a great beer to pair with spicy steaks. Lives up to its name.
Overall: 3.8. Would buy again.

500ml swing cap shared at the Central Jersey BA gathering. Poured a silky black body with a huge frothy dark beige head. Aroma/flavor of burnt marshmallows, dark toast, soy sauce, cola and a touch of tobacco. Smooth body, lighter carbonation and a silky mouthfeel. Good beer.

Beer pours a solid black colour with a generous light brown head that laces well. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, and dark chocolate. Mouthfeel is full bodied and mildly carbonated. Flavour is pretty one dimensional with the coffee and dark chocolate dominating.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Shared 32 oz. bottle, poured to snifters, showing a black/brown hue, with a presentable layer of frothy, brownish tan, head foam, and clingy dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was subtly roasted, with some cocoa, but a stronger scent of prune & raisin. Medium+ bodied, with fair carbonation, the taste included hop bitterness that offered roasted, woody, & earthy qualities, a touch of treacle sweetness, and some alcohol presence. Decent, hearty brew.

Pours thick and black. Licorice and malt on the nose; perhaps coffee notes as well. Medium dark tan head that leaves spotty lacing. The head lasts for a minute or so, which I like. This is a full bodied stout that is a pleasure on the palate with a full mouth feel.

Canada tick bro in the heart of da souf. Pours the part with a light lacing trail. It’s tough to follow the intricacies of this brew with billy bob asking what home brew is in the can. Let’s start wif a day NYS home brew I shat last week... But I digress. Some licourice, mild espresso all wrapped in a full bodhi. Fuck @waynefish1 for ever.

Pours black like, well, tar. I good sized head that get the top cloudy to the bottom. Great lacing. The Taste is of sweet molasses and coca, roasted barley and dark fruits. Great balance. It’s very warming. Excellent brew.

1 liter swingtop. Opaque ebony with a thin film of espresso-colored creamy foam on top. Aroma of dark chocolate, mocha cream, and touches of char and toffee. Flavors of coffee, char, bittersweet chocolate, dark toffee, prune and hints of blackberry. The blackstrap molasses shows just a bit in the long finish, along with a touch of citrus and dried leaf. Heavy body never gets sticky and has a mostly smooth, medium carbonation that suits this beer well. Very easy drinking for such a heavy bodied brew.
