Shared a bottle with a friend. Dark brown pour with a small foamy tan head. Roasted malt aroma, some chocolate. Taste is malty goodness, some sweetness, nuts. Good full body.

Maple and nut aroma. Dark body. A nut ale that taste really quite nutty like hazelnut liqueur. Sweet semi flavourful. Pretty good.

I was surprised by this. In a good way. I don’t think very highly of brown ales for the most part. Coffee aromas. Nice roasted nuts and more coffee flavors. Solid stuff.

I’ll be the first to say I don’t enjoy nut brown ales but this was good. Mild caramel and nut flavors. Pretty good!

1 litre potstopper. Clear deep dark caramel copper, feeble tan foam fades fast. Sweet medium roast aroma. Caramel nutty roasted malty taste, faint herbal bitterness, no noticeable licoice or chocolate. Softer carbonation, medium bodied, lightly hopped. Nice enough. Pours chocolate brown - chocolate and coffee aromas and taste, leaves a bit of caramel and nutty finish.

Pours a hazy light amber brown with a gray brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of chocolate and nuttiness with a backing licorice and a but of deep dark grain. Flavor begins with a bit of sweet grains and chocolate with a nutty finish.

Rating #897 - January 9, 2014 - 1oz sample from Bar Manager at Craft Beer Market, probably due to @kgamiller’s charms, not my own. Dark brown pour with a weak bubbly tan foam that disappears quickly. Aroma is strong roast malts, hint of nutty sweetness. Really really light in body for a brown ale. Taste is bold hazelnutty sweetness, dominant roast malt, low hop character with a slightly bitter finish that is quite pleasant. Impressive.
