2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draught at the brewpub
Dark mahogany color. It has some roasted malt aroma. The flavor mixes caramel and roasted malt, creamy; it’s mild, inoffensive, with a medium-low bitterness. Not interesting.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark brown, rich natural head. Flavourful, earthy, lightly toffeeish body. Smooth, rounded maltiness - they didnít overdo it on the dark malts like a lot of brown ales Iíve had the past few years. Malty, satisfying brown.

Capped 1L swingtop from Ledgerís. Pours pretty dark brown with a foamy tan head. Aroma is rather nuts and cocoa. Med body. Flavor is nuts and threads of cocoa. Finishes with a touch of brown sugar, but itís a little astringent and fairly dry. Nice flavor, mod. ABV, itís a session beer.

Deep brown beer topped with a thin white head. Nice sweet toasty aroma. Sweet nuttiness, a bit earthy with light toffee, a hint of chewy sweetness. Flavour is pretty well-developed. Brown sugar, light toffee, some earthiness. Sweet nutty finish. A hint of spicy hops toward the finish. Nice balance.

Tap at Charcut. Pours clear brown with a medium, creamy tan head, medium-light retention with good lacing. Aroma is nutty, chocolate, and toast malt with dates and faint earthy hops. Flavor is malt dominant with light hops and bitterness and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

This has been around a while. Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. Brown coloured body, lacey. The aroma is nutty and rootbeerish. Licorice taste. Average mouthfeel, suitably carbonated. Decent drinkability.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear brown, almond head with moderate retention. Low caramel, faintly nutty aroma. A little chocolatey, a little nutty, approachable. Unfortunately a little on the thin side for me, but that may be because it was preceded by some bigger beers earlier in the evening. Not bad.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not usually my favorite style so take that into consideration. This has been one of the better nut brown ales Iíve tried in BC because itís not too sweet. Head is fluffy even if it is elusive. Thin body and almost flat palate. Nice malty aromas. Some licorice flavors. Overall not bad.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Big thanks to Lizzie! Pours a hazy light amber brown with a gray brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of chocolate and nuttiness with a backing licorice and a but of deep dark grain. Flavor begins with a bit of sweet grains and chocolate with a nutty finish.
