3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 TheHulk (485) - Lethbridge, Alberta, - JAN 28, 2012Hard to tell from a chilled pint glass. Had a spicey nose from the smaller sample glass, more head too. Pretty dark, more than i expected offf the tap. Flavour is a bit nutty, almost a coffee but not quite at the end. Not too shabby.

Pours a slightly hazy darker brown colour with a decent tan head that’s dissolves into a spotty covering and has moderate lace. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malts, nutty characteristics, and toffee. Pours nice. 1 finger of light frothy oatmeal colored head. Settles to a thin lace. Translucent dark brown, slightly amber when held up to light. Moderate mocha nose. Taste is fruity molasses to start with light hazelnut to finish. Decent brown ale but not exceptional.

A high quality nut brown, right on the mark for what I want. Chocolate aroma, mild roastiness on the palate, pretty creamy mouthfeel. Looks beautiful, too. Reminds me why I love the style.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 thb (617) - Alberta, CANADA - OCT 13, 2012
Good standard brown ale - style that’s hard to really love, but hard to dislike. Appearance - notably dark brown. Aromas of brown sugar, hazelnut, graham crackers, chicory. Or something like that. Sweet, but not a lot, some balancing bitterness. Dead straight middle of the road.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 stuckinprague (43) - - SEP 15, 2012
Beer pours chocolate brown with a thick head, but the head disappears almost entirely once it settles. Aroma is sweet and syrupy, with a chocolate and a touch of licorice sweetness. Beer tastes like chocolate with a fair amount of nuttiness (mostly cashews). In addition, this beer pairs well with cashews as well. Beer palate is medium, creamy and rather flat. The palate works well with the style. Overall this beer is tasty, but a little synthetic in flavours. Could more roasted malt flavour, but it is what it is.

Dark brown, big white head. Slightly nutty, roasted malts also. Nice, uncomplicated beer. 080612
