Clear golden with a hoppy citrus aroma. Decent hoppyness, but I found it bit boring.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Hops in New West. A medium amber color. A refreshing hoppy nose. Over the gums, it’s gently hopped and malted. Well above the macro brews. Quite nice.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap at St. Augustine’s, pours a hazy golden orange with a small off-white head. Aroma of quite English-accented malts, some bread and herbal hops. Flavour is very English, with bready malts, sort of like rye bread, English hops and a metallic tinge. Drinkable, but bland and unadventurous.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
1 litre swingtop bottle poured a pale amber color with abundant white head which settled quite quickly to a fine lace. Aroma of caramel malts and floral hops. Taste is lightly sweet with a mild hoppy finish. Overall, this is a fairly nice pale ale.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Et tu Brute? Pleasant citrus (tangerine, lemon, grapefruit) and floral hops blend well with toasty and bready malts with some caramel sweetness in the nose. Somewhat hazy golden-orange coloured body is topped by adecent white head that recedes slowly to cover. Plenty of citrus character in the flavour along with toasty and caramel malts and underlying fruity esters. Bitterness is quite tangy. Mild butterscotch note rounds out the taste. Medium light body with moderate carbonation that is pointy on the tongue. Tulip glass. Just above fridge temperature. 1L Swingtop bottle

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
1L swing top. Light orange amber, medium white head. Aroma and flavour are sweet caramel with fruity nuances. Finish has low bitterness. Mouthfeel is on the thin side. Not bad, but nothing to bring me back.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Single bottle purchased from the Howe Sound Brewery on 03/11/2011. Colour: Medium brown with slightly browned medium head. Nose: Oatmeal with brown sugar, milk chocolate, almond paste, creamed hops. Taste: Medium sweet, medium-light bitter, light sour. Hops wrapped in creamy caramel swirl, some malted barley lays claim in the middle, and some nutty bitterness finishes things off. Wonderful nose but nothing spectacular in the mouth.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
1L bottle. Pours a light amber colour with a lasting peal head. Hoppy aroma; pine/citrus. Tastes hoppy;; lots of flavour/aromatic hops, notes of citrus. Some sweet malt body. Probably more of an american pale ale than an amber ale. Finishes with an earthy hop bitterness. Quite good...

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
1l bottle. The pour was amber with a rocky foamy head which lasted the length of the glass. I detected some hops in the aroma but very subdued. Over all this is a nice session beer, I certainly went through the litre with little effort.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Not a favourite style of mine at all, but I certainly enjoyed this rendition. Poured a thin yet creamy ivory head to cap a cloudy, almost orange body. Aroma was little, some hop perhaps. Taste had what may’ve been caramel along with what no doubt was hop. Easy on the palate and a smooth finish. Another good ’un from Howe Sound. Thanks for the big one-litre swing-top bottle.
