Had this at the Campground Brewdown. Pours a mostly clear amber to ruby color with a thin to medium bodied white head. Sweet malt and toast, light hops. Malt, earthy sweet and lightly oxidized. Malt, toast, dark fruit. Earthy malt, sweet into earthiness, pungent bitterness.

750mL flip-top at Campdown Brewdown. Hazy red to orange pour with yellow foam. Cheesy and dusty nose. Taste is heavy tea and tannic dust/sawdust. Sticky candies. Old, stale, sticky DIPA.

Pours cloudy gold with unfiltered goodness and a small frothy white top. Aroma is citrus hops and sweet honey malts. Taste is a nice warming citrus and earthy hop bitterness. Sweet honey malt follows and smoothens out. Nicely balanced.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft sampled during HOPoxia 2012. Pours hazy gold with foamy white head. Blended floral-citrus aroma with some soggy cereal character. Good hop/malt balance. Bitter, but not overpoweringly so. Medium bodied. Abrupt finish. High alcohol content readily apparent.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Amber colour, dissippating head. A citrus IPA, quite bitter, verging on the paint thinner ones but not quite... I didn’t realize it was a Double when I tried it, so now that makes sense. Surprisingly little finish.

Perfect head of white on a deep amber pour. Rich sweet citrus aroma. Low carbonation with medium body. Light caramel and grapefruit flavours. Lasting citrus pith finish

When I drink a beer I look for balance and this beer is quite well balanced. I like that the brewer added extra malt to counter the extra hops. And with the extra malt, came the extra alcohol, but the beer hides it well. And in doing so a very sessionable ale is created. Beautiful colour. Nice flavour. Good to great head. Another winner from Howe Sound.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle - Sweet, caramel, grain and lots of hops on the nose. Nice clear amber with a thick off white head. Bitterness right at the start to the very end. You can taste the hops throughout with a bit of grain and grapefruit. Really over the top, to the point where there is no subtle tastes. A good beer, not a great one.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Honkin’ big one litre swing-top bottle. Slightly hazy bright coppery gold with a huge lasting fluffy off-white head. Smells great - a very appealing juicy cereal/citrus/resin moderate alcohol blend, a bit floral. Taste is a little less balanced - it’s even more bitter, but less character - and the grain really begins to dominate. Solid body and carbonation, and a sneaky-long pithy bitter finish and linger. Solid. Thank goodness for that swing-top!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
1L bottle brought back by my brother.
Appearance : Slightly hazy amber with medium foamy and creamy head. Lots of lacing.
Aroma : Resinous and piny hops with caramel malt. Light bready notes.
Taste : Piny and citrusy with caramel. Resinous. Nice citrusy and piny notes but a bit hidden by the caramel.
Overall : A bit heavy on the caramel for my taste. A bit heavy overall. Not enough aromatics for me to match the grain bill. Still well done and enjoyable.
