3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
1 Liter Swingtop Bottle. Appearance is a cloudy burnt orange and gold color along with an inch of solid beige head. Lots of brown sugar, candied orange peel and herbal hops notes in the aroma with a bit of pine resin at the end. The taste starts out with a good deal of earthy hops bitterness and grapefruit citrus flavors that lead to a sweet, bready caramel malt middle. Toward the end there’s some toffee, pine and alcohol. The body is slick and creamy with moderate carbonation and more caramel sweetness and grapefruit rind in the finish. A little more malt-forward than most DIPAs but with enough citrus and piney bitterness to keep it relatively balanced.

Thanks to the Mrs for bring this over from the west. Not that she will ever read this. Nice amber colour with a frothy white head and lace clinging to the glass. Nice fruit gum, grapefruit hop aroma. Initial caramel, fruit flavour. Grapefruit bitterness. Very nice IPA, packed with hops. Very enjoyable.

Not the best IIPA I’ve ever had, but still fairly decent. Not overly bitter, but the alcohol taste is pretty strong. Still, a 1L bottle! Make sure you have friends to share this with...

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
1 litre swingtop bottle poured a hazy orangey color with big white head and nice lacing. Aroma is primarily hops and a little alcohol. Taste is balanced nicely as there is plenty of malty sweetness to dull the huge amount of hops in this beer. There is not any overpowering bitterness in this beer and it is a pleasing beer to drink.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: APR 20, 2012 Eclipse of the Hop?!? Au contraire, this bad boy is nothing but hop... six varieties, no less. Zesty, herbal, grassy, piney, floral and citrusy, lots of overlapping sensations in this one... though if a Lagerboy such as I can put away a whole litre, it’s probally an IPA Light for all you hardcore hopheads, eh? 3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Interesting and tasty beer. Hazy golden-orange hue. Hops have a real richness to them. Not overly aromatic, but they’re full of zingy flavors. Lots of grass, earthy herbs and citrus (zest/peel). Malt flavors have a delicate complexity. Bread crust and dark-grain crackers. Big alcohol is hidden well. Bitterness is on the mild side. Toffee-like sweetness is mild to moderate. Balanced overall.

Understated bitterness, less strictly than the style still very enjoyable. Worth a try. Hoppy aromas. Copper to mahogoney body, tiny head, yet with a lace sheet. Orange simcoe flavours, a little fruity, a little boozy, average mouthfeel.
