4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: OCT 26, 2013 One of the most balanced, perfectly drinkable IIPA’s I’ve ever tasted.
Poured from a 1L swing top, with a hazy amber colour, with a white rocky frothy head which clung to the glass all the way down.
Aroma is pretty subdued for an IIPA, nothing comes across as to overpowering. But nice pine, citrus, grapefruit aromas tease the nose.
Taste is creamy, malt, biscuity and a real nice drying bitter attack on the back of the tongue. The hops don’t totally overpower the flavour, but really blend well with the malt profile.
This is so easy to drink it’s a sin. An IIPA shouldn’t be this easy to enjoy. A real lesson to other brewers who ’think’ an IIPA has to be hopped to high heaven to qualify.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
1L swingtop from Malt & Vine. Pours hazy copper with a creamy bubbling off-white/beige head. Aromas of light roast malt and floral hop. Med+ body with foamy carbonation. It has a dash of sweet that is quickly overwhelmed by a godawful amount of hop. Got hop burn. Hop seems floral/spicey with some fruitiness. Finish is burning bitter with enough malt tagging along to support it all. This is really tasty stuff. After awhile my mouth got hop fatigue, and it was going pretty smooth. Not harsh at all.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2011 2011-04-08, bottle from Brewery Creek, Vancouver, 8-5-7-4-16=40
Hazy amber color; generous head, compact, and leaving a nice lace behind. Strong hoppy aroma, first of all sweaty, then a bit fruity too; there is also some yeast. Strong body, sweet toffee flavor; the bitterness is strong, but correctly balanced to the malts; the hops are enough fruity, and also resiny; light yeast; the final is somehow on the harsh side. Better from the bottle than on tap.

A bit sweaty hop aromas. There is a moderate sweetness.

Hazy amber color; creamy head. Mild aroma of fruits, apples; light resiny hop; light earthy character, maybe yeast. Good body strength, but the malt doesn’t show its true flavor; there is some residual sugar; strong bitterness. Powerful but not shining.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
1 litre swingtop bottle poured a hazy orangey color with big white head and nice lacing. Aroma is primarily hops and a little alcohol. Taste is balanced nicely as there is plenty of malty sweetness to dull the huge amount of hops in this beer. There is not any overpowering bitterness in this beer and it is a pleasing beer to drink.

Pours cloudy gold with unfiltered goodness and a small frothy white top. Aroma is citrus hops and sweet honey malts. Taste is a nice warming citrus and earthy hop bitterness. Sweet honey malt follows and smoothens out. Nicely balanced.
