A rich, malty Wee Heavy style Scotch ale, brewed with 100% barley malt, hops, water and yeast. Peated malt provides a subtle smokiness to this beer, while medium toasted American oak imparts a silky smoothness and additional complexity. Named in honour of Scottish poet Robbie Burns’ famous poem, To A Mouse.

1L bottle cellared for 1 year. This might have deadened the flavor, I did not have a fresh one. The flavors were subdued. Malty first, with chocolate and a hint of raspberries. Alchohol lingers in the finish, but the other flavors fade quickly. Sticky like a good Scotch ale but not payoff in punch. I would like to try this on tap next time.

Draft - Rich toffee and nice brown sugars. Deep dark brown with a decent Light brown head. Toffee and nice toast with a bit of bitterness. Just like a gingerbread sticky pudding. Nice.

Pours decent with a creamy head, it has a fatal flaw with being too watery. It's grainy flavor has a positive effect but it lacks the overall substance to make this out standing ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The aroma is caramel malt and hops. The appearance is red brown. The usage is like the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall underwhelming.

Cool to run into one of these beers in D.C. Hope more Canadian breweries begin to export, and would definitely like to see some King heffy show up around these parts. Pours brown with decent head and lacing. Some oak with some barley mash malt. Light citrus sour element in finish. Tap at Black Squirrel.

Nice bit of caramel and hop on this beer. Fruit from the hopping, along with a bread, amber profile. Smooth. Medium finish.

On tap. Pours a dark brown with red hints and nice light foamy head. Aromas of dry roasted malts and buttered biscuits. Flavors of light caramel, subtle smoke, and lots of roasted malts.

Visual: Pours cola brown with a massive lasting foamy head, a bit of lacing, lots of tiny bubble streams. Nose: sweet caramel/toffee malts with some barley (lvl-7)-pungency. Attack: crisp fizzy, alcohol detection w/ caramel Mid-palate: (lvl-6)-sweetness, (MAIN) deep caramel malts, cola, barley, mild smokiness Finish: roasted malt exhale, residual caramel malts, oaked malty sweet finish. Summary: It drinks quite heavy for a 7% ABV beer, but it does at least have good flavour and body in the mid to finish.
