3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cool to run into one of these beers in D.C. Hope more Canadian breweries begin to export, and would definitely like to see some King heffy show up around these parts. Pours brown with decent head and lacing. Some oak with some barley mash malt. Light citrus sour element in finish. Tap at Black Squirrel.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Visual: Pours cola brown with a massive lasting foamy head, a bit of lacing, lots of tiny bubble streams.
Nose: sweet caramel/toffee malts with some barley (lvl-7)-pungency.
Attack: crisp fizzy, alcohol detection w/ caramel
Mid-palate: (lvl-6)-sweetness, (MAIN) deep caramel malts, cola, barley, mild smokiness
Finish: roasted malt exhale, residual caramel malts, oaked malty sweet finish.
Summary: It drinks quite heavy for a 7% ABV beer, but it does at least have good flavour and body in the mid to finish.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Amber-brown, thin head. Aroma has butter, some crackery thin malts, and maybe a little woodiness. Woody taste, still catching the diacetyl, sweet malt. Gotta get rid of the butter to let the ingredients shine.

Medium body. Smokey. Overall pretty good, but definitely one to share. Not sure if I will ever buy another, but a nice ale nonetheless

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
1 L. swing-top. Pours a nearly opaque mahogany and sports a thin, lasting disc of creamy foam. Nose is full of chocolate toffee and has touches of charred green herb and oak. Flavors of dark caramel, earthy spiced green herb, tart apple and some slight charred wood. Notes of oak, char and just a hint of smoke provide a balanced finish against the big malts. This medium-heavy bodied brew has a smooth, low-medium level of carbonation. Very nice dessert beer.
