3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a clear copper colour with a moderate sticky white head that leaves tons of lace up the glass. Aroma is toasted malts, fruity, grassy and caramel. Flavour is resin, pine, grapefruit, caramel, malty up front and a large in your face bitterness that lingers.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy blonde..aroma is fresh fuggles, goldings...maybe American versions thereof but certainly more English than I was expecting for a "west coast" IPA, given they have another IPA on the menu. Lots of bitterness..grassy...the wrong hops for the job but there’s a lot of character and it’s well-made even if the concept isn’t ideal.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Just your average IPA. Not much in terms of nose, kinda weak actually. Citrus and some sweet honey tastes. Very dry and bitter finish. Not bad, not great, lacks any real complexity.

Hazy golden color with small head. Mild aroma, where crispy malt notes are detected, lightly biscuity. Lean, dry, but with a good mouthfeel; pleasant malt flavor, moderately crispy and biscuity; correct bitterness level (medium-high), with some grassy feeling and light citrusy touch.
Fresh and very pleasant APA, not excessive.

Deep blond color with compact head. Very nice aroma of hops, fresh and fruity (7.5); would score more if the aroma was deeper. The mouthfeel is dry, but also smooth; the malt flavor has a toffeish tone, some caramel; very strong bitterness, with some hop resins, light fruity and flowery presence, but also a chicory-like bitterness in the final.
Not perfect but anyway a fresh good APA.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours clear golden color, nice head that flattens quickly. Smells of apricot, honey and citrus. Taste is honey, little barley with some floral notes. Finishes more bitter with lingering after taste. A good IPA, but could use a little more balance between the hop sweetness and bitterness.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: SEP 5, 2013 Hopraiser West Coast IPA, 1 litre capped pot-stopper shared with Eyrish and one other at West Bay Whiffle. Murky light brown-ish orange, foamy off-white head settles and fades. Floral fruity aroma, tropical, apricot and citrus. Surprise! Bitter resinous pine sap taste dominates, overshadowing and unbalancing the caramel malts and fruitiness. Average carbonation, medium bodied, more aggressively hopped. Finishes dry and bitter. DNFL (Definitely Not For Lagerboys)
