Thx. for letting me sample this one. 341 ml. bottle sampled @ Borefts 2012. 12/2011 bottled. Red amber with a tanned head. Sweet aged, belgian character and yeast, dark fruits, tad dusty apple, lightly oxidized, brown sugar, spices, milk chocolate. Candy sweet, only light oxidation, brown sugar, belgian yeast, mellow dark fruits, light milk chocolate, toffee, bit light bodied - appears to have aged rather fast. Decent enough. Apparently limited to 1100 bottles.

courtesy of fiulijn; 2010 vintage - cloudy brown beer with no head retention; strong aroma of bread, toffe and alcohol; some overmatured fruits too; full-bodied yet not too thick; some bitterness and a long malty finish with notes of molasses, caramel and cheese with warming alcohol notes as well - decently complex and very enjoyable

Paid $5 from cold beer and wine. Off the pour this beer heads up almost like caramel mixed in with the tan foam. It has a nice murky red coloring to it. It has a very mild aroma to it with a touch of very ripe, or cooked banana. Not boozy just very smooth. The flavor is lightly sweet with present hops, but not overpowering at all. The taste overall is very very mild. It has a medium thick body that clears the palate fairly quickly and is rather flat as it should be.
Overall this barley wine is very smooth, and very mild in every sense, but enjoyable and a good value.
