3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle... Clear copper ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. The bouquet is an odd mélange of meat stock, medium-dry sherry and toffee. Medium-bodied with airy carbonation. The flavor presents caramel, modest bitterness and light acidity. Finishes tongue-numbing and winds up a bit dry. Bottle generously shared by newcigarz!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Deep ruddy amber pour with a thick sticky tan head. The nose is awesome - rich earthy malt with a nice caramel character and a bit of soft fruity hop aroma. Plums and dates with an assertive bitterness. Intense but well-balanced with a nice bright hop character. A touch of pine and some herbal character as well. It tastes great now, but would age well too.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
187 ml bottle from the brewery, seeing how it is after 2 years’ release, 29th month of life. Poured a brownish body without any head. Looks and taste like rich malt, slightly boozy aroma and there is alcohol warming in the taste, with a bit of booze in the aftertaste. Certainly hits its style, more British in experience, the hops are behind toffee and...butterscotch, understated citrus taste. Smooth drinker.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
34.1cl bottle courtesy of pjdipes. It pours with an amber body supporting a nice tight tan head of foam. The aroma offers up sweet malts that are a bit musty as well as some sweet hazel nut notes and then faint molasses and dark fruity ester aromatics. The taste is similar with thick malts, sweet hazel nuttiness and molasses. Behind those notes I get thin layers of sweet dark fruity esters and a pleasing earthiness. Cool stuff.

Bottle ? ml
Aroma: great malt depth , hefty smooth with refined alcohol. Nice hint of smooth bittering hop. 8-
Appearance: neat shade of deep dark amber. Good light goes through. Medium white top
Palate / Taste: Full bodied. Plenty of malts, very proper, clean barley wine. Very nice surprise here. Old school, big balanced malty character. Barley wine that is not wants to be double Imperial pale ale. Solid offering. Highly recommended.

33cl bottle sample @ RBBWG 2013, courtesy of 77ships.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle:   Deep amber, moderate frothy tannish head, spotty lacing.   Semi-sweet whole wheat bready aroma.
Not all that hoppy, citrusy, or floral.   Interested in seeing what this one holds for me.   Moderately sweet
on the tongue, bready, whole wheat, faint citrus and pith on the backside.   I would say caramel malt, but its so minor
that I would say... HOLY PISS, did you see that tiger in the tree?   Nobody else did, so who the f*ck would believe me
about this beer.   Sorry, was watching Grandmas Boy just now.   A little green, but not overly immature.   Not
as malty or full bodied as I would have hoped.   Has a slight powdery or candyish sweetness to it.   Middle of the
road kind of Barley Wine.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Moderate whole wheat bready maltiness on the finish,
faint citrus, faint sweetness, and thats about it.   Really needs to be chewier.   Not terribly green, thankfully,
but its not not all that thick or hefty.   Too easy to drink, or perhaps I should say almost too thin.   For a 11%
ABV Barley Wine, it is not caustic or anything.   Easy to drink fer sure.   Needs a touch more caramel sweetness to
really round it out.   Otherwise its good, but not anything to write home about.   I suppose Canadia will love to
keep this for themselves?   I dunno... I am busy listening to Rush right now... perhaps they would approve of this

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
375ml Christmas gift bottle from my wife. Hazy deep red-amber, really attractive lasting foamy solid sized head. Yep, sweetish thickly malty strong BW - floral, somewhat herbal - more English than American, but solid. Taste - yep, follows, a bit boozy but not bad for 10.5%, a little building bitterness, but mostly malt and alcohol. Thick, chewy, mildly carbonated, surprisingly quick finish; solid, if a tad sweet.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12-oz. 2012 bottle cracked brand-new. Pours a clear but incredibly dark mahogany with bright rubied edges. Dense creamy tan head that falls quickly away to not much at all. Loose drippy lace. Big rich caramel, molasses, and brown sugar nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb--surprisingly light and effervescent for a barleywine, or anything 11%. Caramel, raisins, molasses, brown sugar, balsa wood, and black walnuts on the mid palate, with a long sweetish finish.
