Draft at The Cock Tavern in Hackney, London on 13 July 2013.
Poured a dark ruby/ brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, brown sugar and dark roasted coffee. Some initial burnt sugar sweetness is balanced very nicely by bitter dark malts and coffee and some good hop presence.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at The Bottle Shop Canterbury. Black beer. It?s not like Ken said as an old man porter its definitely new wave with plenty of hops on the finish. Meaty malty aroma. Some coffee and chocolate. Too hoppy for a true porter in my mind. More a black ipa than a porter. Bit thin in body and too hoppy clearly a black ipa.
