Pigs Ear. Believe this is the same beer as Ruby Red. Clear darkish amber beer, tiny pale tan head. Light palate, semi dry. Lovely rich marmalade hops with fresh citrus and red berry fruits. Good malt base with a little toffee. Semi dry finish. Hoppy and tasty!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask at Pigs Ear BF 2012, London. Pours clear amber with a foamy, white head. Big pine hop nose, some dark citrus - quite rich. Medium sweet flavor with continued intense pine character, ripe fruits, grass. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sticky finish, lightly abrasive bitterness, resinous pine, dirt, grass, toasted malts. Very good, though could use a bit of refining.

Tap at Pig’s Ear 2012. Brilliantly clear ruddy brown colour. Hmm I like this style, fresh juicy pine hop character, initially fruity sweet, hint of cream, then lengthy bitter hop finish. Very well balanced, probably the best beer I had on the evening.

Gravity @ Pigs Ear 2012. The pour’s deep reddish amber with a small head. The nose is big spruce and pine needle. Rich, pacific northwest forest. Red berry sweetness. The taste is big, rich earthy conifer, red berry and lemon zest. Toasted wood and a bit of pineapple. Nice, smooth hoppy finish. Medium body, nice zippy mouthfeel. Overall, a pretty excellent beer. Great vitality.
