3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask at the Cock Tavern E8. Reddish brown in colour. Iím a big fan of these hoppy red ales, and Howling Hops have smashed it with their versions. Luscious juicy fruit from the hops, berries with a hint of sweetness, cream, a bit of snap, long bitter finish. Splendid.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. 5.2%. Hazy red. Big, bubbly, sticky, off white, lasting head. Lovely sticky hop to this. Jammy, and fruity. Smells very fresh and lively. Bit of a light, oily herb thing going on. Taste sets off juicy bitter, with a fruity sweetness building and lingering. Smooth mouthfeel, although thereís plenty of fizz, which could be a good thing, given that sweetness. Finishes fruity, soft bitter. Touch dry on the close.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Keg at The Font, Manchester. Dark amber shade. Chunky head and lacing. Notes of red fruits, leafy hops, earth, tangerine and some coffee flavour too. Medium hop bitterness or just below. The earthy coffee notes are odd and spoil this a bit. Shame because it seems well joined up.

At the Tankroom. Ruby red is a clear Amber red with a fresh hoppy aroma with breadiness. The taste is somewhat sweetly malty with a satisfying mouthfeel and lovely complex interplay of hop flavorful fruits. Good stuff.
