Not a wit. But bloody brilliant. I’d put this in APA. No wheat, no sour, just quality juicy hops, really good, great sniff, excellent taste that lasts and stays - there is a difference. Up there with The Kernel’s Table Beer and I don’t say that lightly. Well done Howling Hops, and thank you. I’ll be buying more of yours now.

Bottle, purchased at the Cock, shared with JF back at his, 30/03/13. Clouded golden amber with a thin off white head that clears to the edge. Nose carries orange, grapefruit, hops, citrus notes. Taste comprises hops, pine, bitter grapefruit, mineral tones. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finish with plenty of hop presence. Refreshing and full of flavour for a 3% beer, lots of hop presence, not so sure about the Wit?!? Great stuff none the less - sessiontastic!

On cask at Southampton Arms, Kentish Town, 3/2/13. Cloudy yellow. Good white head & lacing. Spicy citrus aroma, wheat & bit of yeast. Mid bitter. Very juicy citrus hops, pink grapefruit, orange. Tangy. Light, wheaty malt. Nutty taste on finish. Not a strong Wit taste, more like a dry, light, hoppy golden ale (bit like Redemption Trinity). Light body. Bit too bitter on aftertaste, but an interestingly hoppy Wit.

Cask @ The Cock Tavern. Interesting to see that this pub’s now become a pre-match watering hole for Leyton Orient supporters! The pour’s hazy gold with a small head. The nose is mild soap, orange peel, some graham cracker and general wheatiness. Mild apricot and sweet syrup. The taste is big floral, herbal hops. Quite perfume-like in tastee. More strong orange peel, hints of mild spices. Soapy finish. Light body, quite flavorful for the modest ABV. Overall, the soapiness brought this down a bit.

Cask at the Cock Tavern, London - many thanks to Mario for getting this for us, as it wasn’t currently pouring. Pours cloudy yellow with a fine, white cream head. Lovely nose of dry lemon and wheat, some hay. Light sweet flavor with bitter lemon peel, dry hay, some dry biscuits. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Very dry to finish, some minerals, dry lemony citrus, pale hay. Nice stuff.

At the brewpub. Thanks to Mario for the advance pour. Cheers mate! Hazy pale gold beer, little white head. Light dry palate. Fine carbonation. Mild seltzer minerals. Nice lime note in the mid. Finishes semi dry with lemon and grapefruit bitterness kicking in. Light, tasty and refreshing.
