COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Pale Ale is a nice marriage of malt and hops to create a well-balanced beer designed to please the palate any time of the year. A light floral aroma leads into a slightly sweet, citrus taste as you drink this light amber colored delight.

Courtesy of JMerritt. OMG, a beer of theirs with carbonation! Pours a hazy orange color with a big, bubbly dense, off-white head. Aroma is a light floral with a modest amount of citrus from the hops and a light grainy maltiness at the end Flavor has a nice citrus hops note to start but quickly moves into a acidic, vomit type of flavor with the brew, a strong toasted malt flavor and some sort or herbal ending. I think the extreme toastedness and early citrus hops must combine to make that "vomit" flavor I experienced. Body of the brew is light with a thin texture but it does have great lacing. Overall the beer has potential but there is just something in the middle of the flavor profile that is messing with the brew.

Festival of Iowa Beers 2009. Pours a deep golden color with a small tight head. The beer has a light English hop and biscuit aroma. the flavor has a nice little English hoppiness and is nicely bitter with some caramel and some of that signature nasty butterscotch. yep.

Festival of Iowa Beers 2009. Poured a clear light orange color with a fluffy white head. The aroma wasn’t too bad consisting of light flowery hops and pale malt. Light to medium bodied with mild bitterness. I tasted citrus candy, but not not else. Weakish malt backbone.

Bottled, purchased in a Hub City six-pack mix. Pours clear, dark reddish-orange with a very small, bright-white head. Pine & nectarines battle wet grains for dominance of the aroma, and I think the toasty hay/straw wins. Mildly bitter flavor turns moderate as heavy spruce notes float in, quickly followed by toasted malt and finishing with a lot of green herbal notes . Finish is a little watery, though mildly bitter grassy hops are a little long lasting. The more I drank, the less I was impressed.

Pours darkish peachy gold with a thin white head that has poor retention. Aroma is caramel, grass, thistle, green tomato, butter and planty notes, there was also a hint of citrus right at first sniff that I couldn’t detect after that. Flavor is toasty malt, bitter dandelion greens, vegetal notes, feverfew tea, some other herbal tea that I can’t think of, sweet malt, some hop bitterness and more dandelion to finish. Palate is thin to medium bodied with medium carbonation, slightly slick entry and dry finish. This is the strangest Pale Ale I have ever had, not in a good way. Too bad.

I think I got a bad bottle? It was flat, and very dark for a "Pale" ale? In fact it was about as dark as your average amber. I will re-rate on a later date.

12 oz. bottle: Spicy hops that remind of green peppers. Also hints of alcohol, almost like hairspray. Another less than par beer from Hub City.

Oh, I almost forgot to rate this one. Pours amber with almost no head. Aroma is grassy hops and caramel. Flavor is plastic, orange, dirt, caramel, grass, and foot. Almost zero carbonation, somewhat bitter in the finish.
