argo0 (6231), Washington DC, USA May 3, 2008 (12oz bottle, thanks General_Gao) Small white head atop cloudy amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, banana, some cream, diacetyl. Taste is medium sweet, lemon, some banana. Creamy light-medium body. acrdz (4386), Boulder, Colorado, USA May 2, 2008 Bottle provided by General_Gao. Pours a hazy yellow color, mostly clear, not sure if it’s filtered and I’m seeing some chill haze or if it’s unfiltered or only slightly filtered. Nose has a big aroma of banana brad and corn fuel, some lemon as well, but the dominant character is banana, both a play up of the yeast used and the malted wheat. The banana comes across a bit old, like old, creamed, browned banana pulp. Texture is moderately thick up front, chewy as well, turning light and pasty in back. Overall it’s nothing special, it’s a little too sweet and the brown, soggy banana flavor gets tiring fast. One positive is that the yeast in the nose is nice and soft, but that doesn’t redeem this beer. JoeMcPhee (3815), Jackson Heights, New York, USA May 31, 2008 Bottle shared by goldtwins. Deep golden beer with a light orange highlights. Aroma is quite sweet and banana loaded. Quite wheaty and fairly sweet. Some light honeyish character. It’s very thin-bodied though and it comes across a bit medicinal and phenolic. Meh. heemer77 (3786), Savannah, Missouri, USA Apr 3, 2008 Medium gold amber body with a thin khaki head. The aroma is classic banana and clove. Plenty of spice and earthy notes. The taste has fairly strong banana peels with some cloves in the finish. This is highly carbonated, and it’s a little off putting. However, this is a nice entry and a good example of the style. Cheers to Hub City. goldtwins (3740), Nesconset, New York, USA Jul 2, 2008 Poured a slightly hazed yellow color with a small white head. The aroma was light with wheaty citrus notes. Light citrus flavor. Light body.
