COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Huber Bock has traditionally provided a creamy texture and rich flavor to beer lovers all over Wisconsin. It has a fine, malty body like the bocks of southern Germany, but is drier than the typical bocks of Bavaria. Huber Bock is made with Brewer's Two-Row Malt, Carapils Malt, Black Malt and domestic hops.

I agree with lagerman. This is history in a glass. Huber inspired the brewers that make a lot of the other beers I drink.

Bottle. Dark brown with thin head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, and a hint of coffee. Medium body, medium sweetness, and relatively strong roasted malt notes. More black malt than I expected for a bock.

Pours a cola brown with a creamy off-white head. Sweet, nutty nose. Creamy, thick mouthfeel. Those are the best qualities. Way too sweet, like near-flat cola with a few drops of welfare whiskey mixed in. Could be great if the malt bill were more refined and it had a touch more hops.

Aroma: Medium malt, dark fruit, plums, light toasty Appearance: Body: Clear, dark amber. Small, cream head. Good retention Flavour: Medium malt, dark fruit, plums, melanoidins, medium sweetness, chocolate. Light toasty Slightly semi-dry finish Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation. Overall: The lower alcohol does make it more quaffable. Enjoyable and very nice flavours and aromas. 330 ml bottle, poured. Thanks Andre! 5B. Traditional Bock

Bottle. Dark brown with a loose beige head. Aroma of malt bread, some chocolate, a little plasticy. Very sweet but mostly pretty clean. Bread, prunes, slight roast. Does dry out a bit, no bitterness. Pleasant enough.

12 oz. bottle pours a clear brown with red edges and a small light tan head without much lacing. Aroma has light chocolate, roasted malts, and some nuts. Taste is sweet caramel with a bit of dark fruits but a slightly bitter finish. Body is medium without much carbonation. Easily drinkable. This was my go-to daily beer in the late 1980s and still one I seek out when I want something inexpensive with its own personality and some substance. It is still my hands-down favorite from the old brewery formerly known as Joseph Huber.

16oz can. From I don’t remember where... Shared at GreatMoloko’s place. Code on bottom reads 13 199 23. Clear red brown color. Surprisingly red. Thin khaki head. Some bits of lace. Pretty solid nose up front. Chocolate, nutty, toasty nose. Caramel malt in the flavor. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter. Medium body. Kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. Solid interesting bock.

Bottle from B&M. My 2nd attempt at this beer - tried it a little more chilled this time. Aroma: Caramel, Malty Appearance: Pours dark red brown, tight creamy head. Looks like a Cola Float. Taste: Sweet, Sweet and a bit more Sweet. And then a touch of "Whisky" on the finish. Palate: Fizzy and Syrupy Not one I’ll be rushing to drink again.

May 25, 2014 - can from Jim. Brown pour with some head that faded quickly. Malty and spicy in both aroma and taste.

Bottle shared with Button, under a tree, at Ripon races, 18th May. Clear, dark red. Bubbly, off white head. Looks good. Went downhill after, though. Overly sweet fruitiness. Taste and palate are syrupy. Sweet finish. Not for me.

Bottle. Deep cola pour with a small head. Sweet malty nose - caramel and sugars. Medium palate. Maybe a touch metallic in the taste.
