mørk bronse med et lyst beige skum som forsvinner raskt. ristet malt og gress i duften. lette toner av tørket frukt i smaken. både duft og smak er for svakt for denne typen juleøl. for sterk karbonisering.

0.33l bottle. This is a nice warm deep amber purple looking cloudy beer with a small light lacing beige top. Smells alright with a sweet and spicy nose. I get both cocoa and dry chocolate with soft traces of dark candied sugar and it has a overall sweet and Christmassy pleasant nose. In the mouth it feels a bit disappointingly light, almost thin and watery while the bubbles are about average. The taste is also a bit of a downer compared to that nice aroma. It desperately screams for a couple of more abv points this. I get a sweet malty and dark caramelly flavor with floral tones and only subtle hints of sour spices. Well, my expectations were high, so all in all this was a bit of a let down, still, not bad tasting at all. Want to try the imperial brother, so please make one! 25.12.2013

Big pale brown head. Hazy dark brown body. Earthy caramelly spicy aroma with lacquer and marzipan notes. Dry-sweet mealy earthy toffee taste with spicy caramel notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish earthy banana aftertaste with mealy fruity spicy notes. Nice, drinkable. (0.33l bottle at VG.)

Bottle from Meny Oslo City. Very dark red. Rich and complex. Rhubarb, apples, grain. The malt is kept in check by dry hoppiness. A nice take ont the traditional Norwegian Christmas brew.

330 ml bottle. Dark brown and clear. Medium-sized fine off-white head. Dry caramelly aroma. Light roasted malts aroma and flavour. Classic Belgian yeast flavours. Light bodied and dry. Lots of caramel and candy sugar syrup flavours. Very nice. A classic Belgian trappist-like beer in 4.7% abv clothing. Thanks, Bjørn.

Dried fruits and a hint of red wine in the aroma. Dark red-brown colour with a off white head. light sweetness and light bitterness. Light body with a average carbonation. Overall OK, but not to exciting.

ClubGonzo (4817) - Bergen, NORWAY - DEC 28, 2013
Bottle from Matkroken Natland, Bergen. Pours a deep hazy nougat-hued amber body with a small off-white head. Nose is mild banana and sugary chewing gum notes with hints of grainy malts far in the back. Taste is white (generic) chewing gum, banana, cloves and hints of candi sugar and bready malts. Light body, medium carbonation. Despite it’s recent award for best Christmas beer in a major Norwegian newspaper, I can’t really say it does it for me - the sweetness profile is far too dominant and sugary, and in my opinion it should be in the "Belgian Ale" category rather than the current.
